Recommended Uncharted game order
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune — Nathan Drake’s first adventure begins with a clue connected to Sir Francis Drake and a search for El Dorado.
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves — Nathan follows the lost fleet of Marco Polo and the legend of Shambhala.
- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception — Nathan and his mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan search for Ubar, also known as the “Atlantis of the Sands.”
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End — Nathan returns to adventure when his brother Sam resurfaces. Their search for pirate Henry Avery’s lost treasure also draws on Nathan’s past.
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy — Chloe Frazer takes the lead, joined by Nadine Ross, in a standalone adventure set in India’s Western Ghats. Playing it after A Thief’s End follows the release sequence and gives you familiarity with recurring characters.
This sequence follows the official series lineup and the order in which the games were released. PlayStation describes the series as having an evolving storyline while also saying each game is designed to stand on its own. PlayStation’s Uncharted series page

Which Uncharted game should I play first?
Start with Drake’s Fortune if you want the character relationships and series story to unfold from the beginning. If you would rather jump into a later game, PlayStation says you can: its Legacy of Thieves Collection FAQ explains that each game has a unique narrative and can be enjoyed on its own. Starting with A Thief’s End is therefore accessible, though you will miss context built up in the earlier games.

The Nathan Drake Collection is a convenient way to play the opening trilogy together. The Legacy of Thieves Collection does not include the first three games, so it suits players who already own them or are choosing to begin with the later adventures.
