You can follow the story, pause to meet animal characters and take on quests, or spend time finding hats and exploring the city. Double Dagger Studio sums up that choice with the question, “Will you make your way home or will you explore what the big city has to offer first?”
How to approach the walkthrough
Think of the game as a main goal surrounded by optional activities, rather than a single mandatory route through every part of the city. The official overview presents getting home, exploring, meeting characters, completing quests, and finding hats as parts of the experience; it does not prescribe a complete quest order or provide a location-by-location route. If you want to reach the story’s ending, prioritize the actions and leads the game presents as part of finding your way home. If you would rather explore, take detours for characters, quests, and collectibles when they catch your attention. You do not need to treat every optional activity as a prerequisite for the central goal.

Finding your way home
The central premise is simple: you are a lost cat navigating a city and trying to get home. Use the game’s immediate prompts and discoveries to guide story progress. The official sources reviewed do not establish a reliable full sequence of story steps, so this guide does not invent one.

Quests and animal characters
Meeting animal characters and taking on quests are part of the city’s optional exploration. Follow the opportunities you encounter, and keep track of any task the game itself assigns. Exact quest requirements, locations, and a complete order are not established in the official overview or support information.
Hats, customization, and photos
Finding hats is one of the game’s collectible activities. The newer Kitty Customizer and expanded photo mode add further ways to personalize and document your cat. The official sources confirm these activity types, but do not provide a complete hat count or verified location checklist.
What changed in the Picture Purrfect Update
Double Dagger Studio says the free Picture Purrfect Update arrived on all platforms on August 27, 2025. It adds characters, cosmetics, areas, a Kitty Customizer, and expanded photo mode, and the developer says this content fits into the existing story. See the press kit for the update overview.

If you are returning after finishing the story
If you have already completed the earlier story, the developer directs you to seek out Tanuki in your save to find the added content. The official guidance does not give a more detailed route to Tanuki, so use the in-game world and prompts to locate the character.
Platform and completion notes
The developer lists PC (Steam), Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation as platforms. Steam’s listing records a May 9, 2024 release date and lists 39 Steam achievements. That count is specific to Steam; do not assume other platforms have the same achievement or trophy total. Check the current listing for the edition you play: Little Kitty, Big City on Steam.
A completion-focused run may include story progress, quests, hats, update activities, and platform achievements or trophies. The reviewed official sources do not provide a complete checklist of quest requirements, collectible locations, or achievement and trophy conditions. The support FAQ mentions the Steam achievement names Sticky Business, Fruit Fall, and Caped Crusader, but does not give their unlock requirements. For a dependable 100% checklist, verify each item against the platform and game version you are playing rather than relying on an unverified total or route.

Kitty is stuck outside the playable area
Open the Main Menu, choose Options, then select Unstick Me. This is the official support instruction for returning Kitty from outside the playable area. Double Dagger Studio’s support page includes this recovery option.

In-game photos are saved through your platform’s built-in screenshot or capture system, according to the support FAQ. Look for them in the capture gallery or screenshot location provided by your console or computer platform.

The official website currently announces a mobile release as “Coming to Mobile Late 2026,” without specifying a launch day. That is an announced release window, not confirmation that a mobile edition is available now. Check the official website for current information.
