Start by identifying the mode
The official listings describe two different kinds of play, so a useful diagnosis depends on where the losses happen. The Google Play listing calls its real-time mode “Ace Duel”; the US App Store calls it “Ace Showdown.” Both describe Dream League as a mode centered on strategic formations. Keep the store-specific labels in mind when looking for mode information or comparing descriptions.

Check whether the formation fits the players
For Dream League, review the strategic setup rather than assuming that a strong roster will work equally well in every formation. Ask whether the players you rely on are placed in roles that make sense for your chosen arrangement, and whether the overall setup supports the approach you intend to use.

This is a diagnostic, not a specific formation recommendation: the official descriptions highlight formations but do not publish an optimal formation chart or explain the numerical effect of individual choices. Change one meaningful part of the setup at a time, then see whether the same problem persists.
Review development paths and skill strategy
The store descriptions say that training and different development paths can affect on-field performance and how skills are deployed. That makes development a reasonable place to investigate when a highly rated player is not contributing as expected.

- Check whether the skill strategy you chose suits the way you are trying to play.
- When testing a change, avoid altering several development or skill choices at once; otherwise, it is harder to tell what affected the result.
The listings do not give effect sizes, detailed mechanics, or a best build, so no particular development path can be presented as a guaranteed fix.
Read team power as a summary, not a promise
A higher displayed power does not, by itself, establish that a win is assured. One US App Store reviewer described losing in arena with a team they said had “more than 14,000 powers” against one with “less than 5,000 powers,” despite what they considered better upgrades and tactics. That is one user’s account, not an official rule, a verified match record, or evidence of why the match was lost.

Use power as one clue, then investigate the mode, formation, development choices and—where play is real-time—execution. The available official descriptions do not establish the exact match-resolution formula or the contribution of any one factor.
In real-time matches, consider execution and controls
A real-time result can involve more than roster strength and setup. The US App Store describes Ace Showdown as 5v5 and says each match lasts four minutes; that description applies to that listed mode, not necessarily every mode in the game.

One reviewer reports that the follow and shoot controls overlapped after they won possession. Treat this as an anecdotal example, not a universal control problem. If a loss follows a missed action, pay attention to whether you could see and use the intended control at that moment, rather than assuming the players’ tier explains everything.

Prioritize adjustments that fit the mode and your current approach. Formation is especially relevant to Dream League; execution and controls are worth considering in real-time play; development and skill strategy can matter across your player choices. Prefer changes grounded in the game’s documented features, and test them separately. No official source cited here ranks these adjustments or offers a setup that guarantees wins.
