ARC Raiders’ skin debate is about the value of paid cosmetics in a premium-priced game—not evidence that every player objects. Launch-period coverage in November 2025 reported criticism of bundle prices and the lack of earnable premium currency. Embark’s official materials confirm that Raider Tokens can be used for cosmetic items, while its dated announcements document named sets, color variants and an upcoming pass system. They do not amount to a complete catalog of every cosmetic in the game.
Why ARC Raiders skins have drawn criticism
GamesRadar’s November 3, 2025 coverage described some players criticizing expensive cosmetic bundles and the absence of earnable premium currency, with comparisons to Helldivers 2. That is evidence of launch-period complaints, not a current survey or proof of a consensus among players. No representative survey establishing how widespread those views are is available in the sources cited here.
Embark’s official materials say Raider Tokens are used for Raider Decks, bundles and cosmetic items, including outfits, backpacks, charms, emotes and Scrappy outfits. That confirms the currency’s uses; it does not mean every cosmetic must be bought. The debate is therefore best understood as a question of value and monetization in a premium game, rather than a claim that all skins are paid or that all players oppose the system. What Embark has released so far
The available records document several distinct kinds of release. A named DLC set is not the same thing as an in-store color variant, a reward, or a bundled edition upgrade. Steam’s DLC catalog confirms these named set entries and dates, but it is not a full inventory of in-game, earned, promotional, event or variant cosmetics.

These dates are the entries shown in Steam’s ARC Raiders DLC catalog. They identify cataloged DLC, not necessarily the date every player could access every related cosmetic through every platform or in-game route.
Deluxe Edition upgrade
Steam lists a digital Deluxe Edition upgrade released October 30, 2025. Its listed contents are the Wanderer Set, Lip Scar character cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire emote, Scrappy body type and outfit, and 2,400 Raider Tokens. The listing supports describing this as a digital upgrade; it does not establish a physical edition. See the Steam DLC listing for its catalog entry.

Store variants and other dated cosmetics
- September 8, 2026: Live Update 1.45.0 introduced the Hornet Hunter Set. Embark also said the Boonie outfit would be available from September 15. The post announced that Cred would retire with Frozen Trail on October 8; existing Raider Deck rewards would transfer to the new system, and rewards already claimed would remain unlocked. Embark’s news page publishes its update announcements.
- September 22, 2026: Store Update 1.47.0 added Camo and White variants for the Riposta Set. The note also reminded players to claim community-designed Rubber Ducks through the inbox before October 8. See Embark’s store updates.
- September 29, 2026: Store Update 1.48.0 added Blue Silver and Green Wood variants for the Misthorn Set. Embark said existing owners would receive these automatically. It also said there would be no store update the following Tuesday ahead of Frozen Trail. See Embark’s update announcement.
These examples distinguish a new named set from color variants and rewards. They do not establish the total number of skins Embark has released.
What was announced for Frozen Trail
As of October 4, 2026, Frozen Trail and its Reward Passes had been announced for October 8 but had not launched. Embark described two tracks: a Free Pass and a Premium Pass. The details below are the announced plan at that cutoff, not confirmation of the live offer or its current regional pricing. Embark’s September announcement describes the passes and related package.

Free Pass and Premium Pass

The distinction matters: Embark said the free track includes gameplay items, whereas the Premium Pass is cosmetic in its contents. “Up to” describes the maximum token rewards in the announcement; it is not a guarantee of an immediate token grant.
Legacy Pass and Collector Set DLC
Embark described the Legacy Pass as collecting Raider Deck cosmetic rewards and tokens into a Free Pass. Rewards already earned stay unlocked. The separately announced Collector Set DLC was to include the Renzo cosmetic set, Dragon’s Breath weapon stencil, Bob hairstyle, 2,400 Raider Tokens, access to the Frozen Trail Premium Reward Pass, a retro sofa for the Raider Outpost and a Banjo blueprint. The announcement establishes the package contents, not its release state or current price as of October 4; consult the live store for availability and cost.

Embark’s May 13, 2026 development update said major updates would arrive twice a year, while regular live updates, fixes, store updates and player events would continue. Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal wrote: “Going forward, we’ve made the decision to release major updates twice a year – larger in scale, more impactful, with the goal to genuinely change how you play the game.” This cadence helps explain why store notes and cosmetic releases appear separately from major updates. The cited official announcements and Steam catalog establish examples, not a complete cosmetic inventory or a comprehensive price comparison across platforms and regions. Store prices and availability can differ by region and platform, so check the live in-game or platform store for current offers. The launch-period criticism should likewise not be mistaken for a current measurement of player opinion.
