Alidoro is Lies of P’s special-item merchant: he trades Rare Ergo for a linked special weapon or amulet. You can find him at several points along the story, and a late-game choice determines whether he stays the trader or you pursue his Cryptic Vessel route. Save each boss Ergo until you have chosen which reward you want.
Where to find Alidoro
Alidoro’s location changes as the story progresses. The character reference lists these stops: St. Frangelico Cathedral Library, Archbishop’s Altar, Workshop Union Entrance, Hotel Krat, Barren Swamp Entrance, and Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field. First meeting: St. Frangelico Cathedral Library
In the upper part of the Cathedral Library, take the elevator reached after an elite Carcass encounter to the balcony where Alidoro is waiting. He asks you to direct him to a safe place. The dialogue offers Workshop Union Entrance/Venigni Works or Hotel Krat. The character reference describes the Venigni Works answer as a lie and Hotel Krat as the truth.
After the Cathedral
If you direct him to Venigni Works, the Steam walkthrough places him near the Workshop Union Entrance Stargazer after Fallen Archbishop Andreus. He eventually moves to Hotel Krat either way. Later locations include Barren Swamp Entrance and the Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field; check the next story area if he is no longer where you last saw him.

What Alidoro sells and how Rare Ergo trades work
At Hotel Krat, Alidoro exchanges boss or Rare Ergo for special weapons and amulets. Each Ergo is tied to a choice between its associated weapon and amulet: one instance of the Ergo does not buy both. The character reference describes the choice as exclusive within a playthrough, so hold the Ergo until you know which reward fits your build or collection goals.
There is no universally best purchase established by the available guides. Compare the weapon’s usefulness to your build with the amulet’s effect, and consider whether you are pursuing a particular collection or planning another playthrough.

Should you spare or attack Alidoro?
After the second Black Rabbit Brotherhood fight, a late encounter near the Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field gives you the choice to spare or attack him. The outcomes below are reported by RelicTrek’s guide, updated June 8, 2026; detailed quest behavior is guide-reported rather than confirmed here against an official developer source.

Choose based on which route matters more to you. Attacking is the reported path to the vessel; sparing keeps Alidoro as the trader. Hugo’s replacement role means the choice need not permanently remove access to special-item trading, according to the guide.

How to use Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel for Eugenie’s route
- After obtaining Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel, return to Hotel Krat.
- Ask Venigni to decrypt the vessel.
- Read the decryption item.
- Then speak with Eugenie and follow the relevant dialogue.
The Steam walkthrough also describes the vessel, Venigni’s decoding, and Eugenie dialogue. Record outcomes have been patch-sensitive: RelicTrek reports that post-expansion patches changed availability of records previously described as exclusive. Because results may depend on the installed version, check your current record inventory rather than assuming one branch guarantees a particular record.
