That is a matter of preference, not proof that it is the stronger game overall: both PS5 releases share major technical features, and Insomniac even brought some Miles Morales photo-mode ideas into Spider-Man Remastered.
1. Miles has a combat identity Peter does not
PlayStation describes Miles’s bio-electric Venom blasts as a core part of his abilities. They give encounters a distinct tactical option: players can use electrical attacks as they move through fights, rather than relying only on the combat identity established by Peter Parker. Whether that feels like an improvement depends on whether you prefer Miles’s power set.
PlayStation’s Miles Morales page presents Venom powers as a defining feature of his story and gameplay.
2. Camouflage adds another stealth choice
Miles can turn invisible using covert camouflage, according to PlayStation. That gives players another way to approach stealth encounters: concealment can support repositioning or a quieter approach, rather than relying on the tools and tactics available to Peter. The added option is a clear point of difference, though it does not make every stealth encounter easier or better for every player.
#1 Best Overall
- Miles morales discovers explosive powers that set him apart from his mentor, peter parker. Master his unique, bio-electric venom Blast attacks and covert camouflage power alongside spectacular web-slinging acrobatics, gadgets and skills.
- A war for control of Marvel's new York has broken out between a devious Energy Corporation and a high-tech criminal army. With his new home at the heart of the battle, miles must learn the cost of becoming a hero.
- Traverse the snowy streets of his new, vibrant and bustling Neighborhood as miles searches for a sense of belonging. When the lines blur between his personal and crime-fighting lives, he discovers who he can trust, and what it feels like to truly be home.
3. Its story centers Miles’s community
The official premise places Miles’s next chapter in East Harlem and emphasizes his responsibilities to his friends, family, and community. That makes the neighborhood and Miles’s local ties an explicit part of the story’s setup. Players looking for a more locally focused point of view may prefer that emphasis; the effect on the story’s emotional impact is subjective.
PlayStation describes the setting and premise on its Miles Morales product page.
4. The snowy city creates a different atmosphere
PlayStation’s description of Miles Morales highlights a snow-covered New York. Snow changes the visual character of familiar city streets and gives this adventure a seasonal atmosphere that distinguishes it from Spider-Man Remastered. That is a presentation difference, not evidence that one game’s city is objectively better designed.
5. Its visual pitch suits a winter adventure
PlayStation says the PS5 version of Miles Morales features ray tracing, improved lighting and shadows, and more detailed character models. Those elements support its snowy visual presentation. The PS5 version of Spider-Man Remastered also has an official graphical upgrade, updated assets, and dynamic 4K/HDR, so these descriptions do not establish a measured visual winner.

6. Its photo mode introduced features Remastered later received
This comparison has a useful wrinkle: some features associated with Miles Morales were added to Spider-Man Remastered. In a September 30, 2020 PlayStation Blog post, Insomniac Community Director James Stevenson said Remastered gained photo-mode features developed for Miles Morales: placing lights in the environment and changing Spider-Man’s suit after framing a shot.
That is the clearest documented example of a Miles Morales feature influencing Remastered. It also means these photo-mode tools should not be treated as a lasting Miles-exclusive advantage when comparing the updated games.

7. It offers a different accessibility and control mix—not a proven overall lead
PlayStation lists remapping and other control and gameplay options for Miles Morales. Its US product pages list 24 accessibility features for both PS4 and PS5 versions of each game, while Insomniac’s support material separately identifies a Venom Mode setting for Miles Morales. These details make it worth checking the specific options that matter to you, but they do not establish that one game is categorically more accessible.

8. The shorter, focused premise may be a better fit
The official story setup gives Miles Morales a defined focus: Miles is stepping up in East Harlem while balancing obligations to people close to him and to his community. If that character-and-neighborhood frame is what you want from a Spider-Man game, it can be a stronger fit than choosing solely for a broader Peter Parker story. This is about the kind of story you want, not a claim about playtime or content volume.

Both PS5 games advertise fast loading, DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers, 3D audio, and an optional performance mode targeting 60 fps. PlayStation describes the same broad technical baseline for each, so these features should not count as something Miles Morales did better than Remastered. The 60 fps figure is a target specification, not an independent measurement of actual performance.

10. Its edition options can bundle both adventures
PlayStation lists Miles Morales for PS4 and PS5. Its Ultimate Edition includes a voucher for Spider-Man Remastered and all three chapters of The City That Never Sleeps. If you want both Miles’s adventure and Peter Parker’s remastered game, that bundle can be a practical way to get them together. Confirm the current edition, format, and availability in your region before buying.
Check PlayStation’s current Miles Morales listing for edition details.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Miles Morales if its Venom powers, camouflage, East Harlem focus, or snowy presentation are the features you most want. Choose based on the specific Peter Parker story or edition you want if those matter more. On PS5, do not decide on the assumption that only Miles’s game has fast loading, modern controller feedback, 3D audio, or a 60 fps-target performance mode; PlayStation describes those features for both.
