For The Sims 4: Life & Death, the most dependable pack-specific commands are EA’s Thanatology skill and Reaper and Undertaker career cheats. Community guides list additional commands for traits, ghosts, Soul’s Journey, outfits and objectives; those are useful but are not individually confirmed by EA. Pack-specific features require the base game and the Life & Death Expansion Pack, which also requires the relevant game updates (EA pack page).
How to enter Life & Death cheats
On PC or Mac, press Control + Shift + C to open the cheat console. Enter testingcheats true, then enter the command you want. EA documents this process for the Thanatology skill (EA Thanatology guide). For community-listed advanced cheats, follow the specific guide’s prerequisites; some require a ghost, a Sim ID or a Shift-click menu action.
Official Life & Death cheats
EA’s help pages directly document the following commands. Career promotion commands raise the Sim by one rank each time they are used.

Community-listed trait and grief cheats
Sims Community’s guide lists commands for standard traits, including Chased by Death, Macabre and Skeptical. It notes that Macabre and Skeptical are incompatible. The guide also lists grief-style traits and says applying one starts a grief process that may last up to seven days. These details and commands are community documentation, not commands EA individually confirms. See the Sims Community Life & Death cheats guide for the exact trait names and syntax.

The community guide lists a command to set Ghost Mastery experience:

- Goodbye (For Now) — Different Sims will grieve in different ways. There are 4 types that will tie in with both Sims’ personalities and their relationships with the deceased.

Replace [number] with the desired experience amount. The guide also gives rank thresholds from Wispling through Transcendent Wraith and lists power-unlock commands using bucks.unlock_perk. Those unlocks require the target Sim’s ID and the exact perk name from the guide; use its instructions to obtain the ID and choose a listed power rather than guessing an identifier.
Other community-listed commands and menu cheats
Sims Community also documents cheats for career demotion, career outfit unlocking, Soul’s Journey progression, heirloom limits and adding Unfinished Business objectives. Some of these are not typed as ordinary console commands: the guide describes using the Sim’s Shift-click menus for particular actions. Follow the listed interaction and prerequisite for each entry in the community guide.

For Reaper and Undertaker promotions, use the EA forms above as the straightforward documented commands. The community guide publishes additional career codes; treat those as separate community-listed forms rather than interchangeable syntax.

EA identifies Death by Murder of Crows as a new death type in the expansion (EA expansion overview). PC Gamer reports that it did not find a direct cheat code for this death. Its account describes provoking a crow as gameplay, not a verified console command, and says its suggested recovery method did not work for the writer (PC Gamer’s Life & Death cheats list). Do not treat a gameplay route as a cheat code.
