What the ratings and rank order mean
Bonmatí is the only player in this top 12 with a 91 overall rating. Putellas, Kerr and Graham Hansen share 90; Smith, Hegerberg and León share 89; and Katoto, Reiten, Renard, Mead and Paredes share 88. Their separate positions are the source’s published ordering, not evidence that each has a distinct overall score.
These are in-game ratings, not a measurement of real-world ability or a claim that one player is universally better than another. A useful way to compare players in the game is to look at position and attribute profile alongside overall. For example, GOAL’s FC 25 ratings coverage lists Bonmatí as a central midfielder with 91 dribbling, Smith as a striker with 93 pace, Kerr as a striker with 88 shooting, and León as a center back with 90 defending. Those attribute numbers are also game stats.

Why this is an FC 25 list, not a current ranking
EA’s live Player Ratings page displayed FC 27 when accessed on October 7, 2026. It should not be treated as a live FC 25 source or used to update this historical top 12. EA’s current page describes ordering by overall rating, with further ordering informed by subjective factors based on real-life performance; that explanation applies to its live database and does not establish the exact method behind Forbes’s FC 25 ordering.
