For shooting games with friends under one roof, look for local multiplayer, not just an offline mode. Offline solo play lets one person play without internet; LAN multiplayer lets several devices play together over a shared local network, which may still need a host or room setup. Only a few titles in the original 15-game roundup have enough current, specific information to recommend confidently here, so treat the rest as leads to verify rather than confirmed picks.
What “offline multiplayer” means
Games use “offline” to describe different things. A campaign or bot match may work without internet but offer no way for two people to play together. Local multiplayer is the feature to look for: players connect their devices over the same Wi-Fi or another local network. That connection can work without internet access, but the devices still need to be on a network together.
Before downloading, check the game’s current store listing or developer page for LAN support, supported devices, and setup instructions. A shared Wi-Fi router is one way to provide a local network, but it is not automatically required; a suitable hotspot may work depending on the game and device configuration.
Three titles with specific local-play details
| Game | Confirmed local play | Setup and availability details |
|---|---|---|
| Local Warfare Re: Portable | LAN FPS with PvP and PvE modes; the Google Play listing says it supports up to 32 LAN players and bots at five difficulty levels. | One player must host a LAN room for others to join. The Google Play listing indicates Android and Windows availability, ads, and in-app purchases. These details are from the listing, not independent testing; check the current store page for your region. |
| SkullStrike | The developer describes LAN battles over the same local Wi-Fi in 1v1, 2v2, and 4v4 formats. Deathmatch and Zombie modes are described as playable without internet. | The developer page links to Android and iOS stores. It does not state a publication date, and availability or feature details may vary by store. |
| PewPew Live | The official website lists online and LAN multiplayer with two-player co-op. | The site describes the game as free and ad-free and lists controller support. These are official-site statements, not independently tested claims; confirm current platform availability on the site. |

How to choose a game for your group
- Match the game mode to the group. For competitive matches, check whether the game supports the number of players you have; for cooperative play, confirm that co-op is specifically available over LAN.
- Check how a match starts. Local Warfare Re: Portable’s listing says one player hosts a room. Other games may use a different process, so find the joining instructions before everyone installs.
- Verify each device and store region. Do not assume an Android release is also available on iOS, or that a listing’s price and purchases are identical everywhere.
- Separate internet-free play from LAN play. A game can offer offline bots or modes while its multiplayer requires internet, or it can offer LAN multiplayer without internet. Confirm the exact feature you need.
- Review ads and purchases. The confirmed Google Play details for Local Warfare Re: Portable include ads and in-app purchases; that does not establish the monetization of the other games.
The 15 titles named in DigitBin’s roundup
DigitBin’s April 9, 2026 roundup names these games: Special Forces Group 2; Doodle Army 2 – Mini Militia; Neon Shadow; Pixel Gun 3D; 2D Strike; Army Men Online; Standoff Multiplayer; Local Warfare Portable; Zombie Scrapper; Shades – Combat Militia; Heroes of CyberSphere; Real Commando Shooting Offline; Cover Fire; Local Warfare; and Tanks Battle – WiFi. The roundup’s visible numbering repeats “3” and skips “11,” so its count and presentation should not be treated as a verification that all 15 are current, free, available on both Android and iOS, or working over LAN today.
Use that list as a set of candidates, not a guaranteed download guide. For any title not covered by a current developer or store statement above, verify that its present version supports local multiplayer, that the mode works without internet, and that it is available for your devices before arranging a group session.
