Community references disagree on the current roster total, so the list below focuses on what those sources establish rather than claiming a verified complete count.
What races do in Sailor Piece
Races are build modifiers, not just character appearances. The Fandom Sailor Piece Wiki’s Races page describes passive bonuses and additional abilities that can affect damage, luck, health, movement, and jumps. It also gives examples of race requirements for some unlocks. That page identifies itself as incomplete, so treat its examples as guidance rather than a definitive current ruleset.
Race value depends on what you are trying to do. Compare the relevant damage type, farming bonuses, survivability, utility, and any race requirement tied to your desired weapon or progression route.
How many races are there?
The reviewed community references do not establish a reliable current total. SailorPiece.org’s guide, updated May 16, 2026, says there are 21 races, while that site’s wiki index says 23. The Sailor Piece Wiki’s Races page presents secret evolutions alongside its standard race information, which may also affect how a count is understood. These sources do not resolve whether the difference comes from updates or counting conventions.

For that reason, a number presented as the definitive live-game roster would overstate what these references confirm. Check the in-game race list for the current options, and distinguish ordinary reroll choices from quest-based evolutions.
How to reroll your race
- Open Inventory.
- Go to Items.
- Use Race Reroll.
- Confirm the action to replace your active race.
This route is described by the current Sailor Piece Wiki Races page. Its description says Archangel and Reaper are obtained through evolution questlines, not ordinary race rerolls. The older Fandom Race Reroll page mentions merchants and drops from enemies, bosses, or chests as possible ways to obtain rerolls, but it is not enough to guarantee those acquisition methods are current. Check the game for available sources of the item.

Secret races: Archangel and Reaper
The Sailor Piece Wiki describes two secret evolution routes. These are progression paths, not simply alternate entries to select with a standard reroll.
- Archangel: The wiki describes Angel as the starting race for a three-part Divine Trials route.
- Reaper: The wiki describes Wraith as the starting race for a four-part Soul Trials route.
Quest objectives and locations can change with updates, so the references are not a sound basis for a step-by-step route. Confirm the current requirements in game before committing to either progression path.

There is no source-backed universal winner. The recommendations below are guide assessments, not controlled comparisons, and the cited pages disagree about how to rank the strongest options.

Check race requirements before changing
A reroll can affect more than your stats if a desired unlock depends on your current race. The Fandom overview lists Swordblessed as a requirement for Yamato and Angel for Archangel trials; the Sailor Piece Wiki identifies Angel as the start of Divine Trials and Wraith as the start of Soul Trials. These are source-attributed examples, and requirements may change. Before rerolling, check the relevant in-game unlock or quest so you do not discard a race needed for your next goal.

Community pages sometimes publish precise stat bonuses, but those figures should be treated as version-sensitive game values rather than independently tested facts. For example, the Sailor Piece Wiki lists Archangel with +22% sword damage, +55% luck, +115% max HP, +22% melee damage, +15% double drops, two extra jumps, and +100% damage. It lists Reaper with +35% sword damage, +120% max HP, +25% execute damage, +3% lifesteal, +12% damage reduction, and +105% damage. Consult the linked page and verify the live in-game values before using exact numbers to make a build decision.
