For the 2025 Tombs of the Erased season, a five-build starter shortlist from Dread—described in a video published April 15, 2025—offers options for distinct play styles: Infernal Shade Warlock, Bleed Hail of Arrows Marksman, Tornado Werebear, Erasing Strike Void Knight, and Lightning Fissure Smite Paladin. It is a creator’s recommendation, not a verified ranking of every mastery or proof that any build is best for Tombs specifically. Choose by combat feel and progression goals rather than treating the list as a tier list.
What this shortlist does—and does not—establish
Dread’s recommendations were described as solo testing without gear, from level 1 to 300 corruption. The creator framed them for progression, farming, and possible later upgrades, and said they were not intended for Uber Aberroth. Those are the creator’s stated scope and test conditions, not independent performance results or guarantees of ease, survivability, or current balance. The description does not provide comparable clear times, death rates, gear costs, or boss-kill data, so the five builds cannot be ranked numerically on those measures.
The shortlist was published shortly before Season 2 launched on April 17, 2025. It is a historical Patch 1.2-era guide, not a claim about the live game’s strongest builds in October 2026. Eleventh Hour Games’ Patch 1.2 notes were published April 11, 2025; later balance changes mean a 1.2 recommendation should not automatically be carried forward.
Which of the five builds suits your play style?
Infernal Shade Warlock: damage over time and ailments
Dread describes this as a versatile damage-over-time and ailment option with scaling and hybrid defense. It is the clearest fit in the shortlist for players drawn to damage that builds through ongoing effects rather than a single melee strike. The creator calls out hybrid defense, but the description gives no comparable defensive measurements for the other builds.

- Includes 4 Super Mario figures and 1 spinning top
- For 1 or more players, recommended age 4 years and up
Bleed Hail of Arrows Marksman: ranged bleed stacking
This is the shortlist’s ranged option, described as stacking bleed. Consider it if you want to deal damage at range and prefer an ailment-focused approach. The source does not give a comparable measure of its damage, safety, or gear requirements.
Tornado Werebear: shapeshift combos and a tanky feel
Dread characterizes Tornado Werebear as combo-oriented, tanky, and capable of burst damage. It suits a player who wants shapeshift combat with combinations rather than a primarily ranged or damage-over-time setup. “Tanky” is the creator’s description, not a quantified survival result.
Rank #2
Erasing Strike Void Knight: melee with a possible later transition
This is the shortlist’s direct melee-strike choice. Dread describes it as a starter that may later transition to World Splitter, making it the only entry with a specific potential build transition called out in the description. The transition is a possibility, not a stated requirement or guaranteed upgrade path.
Lightning Fissure Smite Paladin: an experimental option
The creator describes this Smite setup as experimental, with damage-over-time potential. Treat that label as a cue that it may appeal to players interested in trying an unusual approach, rather than evidence that it is the safest or most proven option. The description does not quantify its performance against the other four.

How Tombs and Woven progression affect the choice
In Patch 1.2, Tombs are procedurally generated side zones that can appear in eligible Monolith of Fate Echoes, excluding Quest and Arena Echoes. They contain Woven enemies and culminate in a Goldthread Fateweaver boss; defeating it grants a chest that duplicates the current Echo bonus reward. Cemeteries are a separate Echo type with their own boss objective. These are different activities, so a build recommendation for general progression should not be read as a Tomb-specific ranking.
Season 2 also introduced the Woven faction. Memory Amber and Woven Echoes support faction progression, while the Weaver Tree lets players affect Monolith encounters and rewards. Eleventh Hour Games describes a maximum of 50 Weaver Tree points and roughly 70 nodes in its Season 2 overview. Those system counts explain the breadth of progression choices; they say nothing about which mastery performs best.

- Primary Country of Manufacture: China
- (C) EPOCH
- Recommended Age: 4 years and up
- Batteries: No need
Choosing a starter without a false tier list
- Pick for combat feel first: damage over time and ailments (Warlock), ranged bleed stacking (Marksman), shapeshift combos (Werebear), a melee strike (Void Knight), or an experimental Smite setup (Paladin).
- Use the creator’s specific cues carefully: hybrid defense is called out for Warlock, tankiness for Werebear, and a possible World Splitter transition for Void Knight. The source does not make equally detailed claims for every build.
- Match expectations to the stated scope: the creator describes solo, no-gear testing through 300 corruption for progression and farming, while excluding Uber Aberroth. That endpoint is a creator-reported test scope, not a guarantee that every player will reach it.
- Check current patch information before committing: these are April 2025 recommendations. The shortlist does not verify performance after subsequent updates, and Patch 1.2 itself changed endgame progression, balance, crafting, Sentinel, and quality-of-life systems. Icy Veins’ Last Epoch patch notes and changelog provide context on 1.2-era build-guide revisions, but do not turn this shortlist into a current ranking.
The literal question “Any of this Build is easy to play and good league starter?” appeared in a community discussion, but replies were personal opinions, not comparative evidence. The creator shortlist is a more useful starting point for matching a build to a preferred style; it still does not establish a universal best or an objectively easiest choice.
