To craft a weapon in The Forge, select a weapon craft at the crucible, add ores, and complete the heating, pouring, mold-breaking, hammering, and quenching minigames. The reported chance of producing a weapon class depends on ore count; ore choice is reported to affect stats and traits. A second chance may determine which named weapon appears within the class, so class odds and variant odds are not the same thing.
The probabilities and weapon details below come from unofficial fan guides, not official guarantees. They may change with game updates, and the guides do not establish a universally best weapon.
How weapon crafting works in The Forge
The fan guide’s described process begins at the crucible: choose a weapon craft, select ores, then complete a series of active forging stages. The guide says the final summary shows the weapon type, rarity, quality percentage, and stats. It also reports that performance in the minigames influences craft quality; this is a guide-described mechanic, not a verified guarantee for every current game version.
- Select a weapon craft at the crucible.
- Choose the ores for the recipe. The reported class odds are tied to total ore count, while ore type is described as affecting the resulting stats and traits.
- Complete the forging stages: heating, pouring into a mold, breaking the mold, timed hammering, and quenching.
- Review the result in the final summary, which the guide says displays weapon type, rarity, quality percentage, and stats.
How many ores do you need for each weapon class?
A recipe guide labeled its table “Winter 2025 Weight System.” It reports the following ore totals and class probabilities. These are unofficial guide-reported probabilities, not independently verified or developer-published drop rates.

#1 Best Overall
| Weapon class | Reported ore count | Reported chance |
|---|---|---|
| Dagger | 3 (listed as optimal) | 100% |
| Straight Sword | 6 (listed as optimal) | about 86% |
| Gauntlet | 9 (listed as optimal) | about 65% |
| Katana | 12 (listed as optimal) | about 72% |
| Great Sword | 16 (listed as optimal) | about 69% |
| Great Axe | 22 (listed as optimal) | about 67% |
| Colossal Sword | 50 (listed as optimal) | about 70% |
The same guide reports that a Straight Sword can also appear with 4 ores at approximately 14%. Its table should not be combined with other fan-site recipe tables: the sources do not establish that their systems or figures are compatible.
Class chances and named-weapon chances are separate
A class probability answers whether the craft produces a category such as Dagger or Katana. A variant probability answers which named model appears after that category is selected. A separate unofficial weapon reference lists, for example, Dagger at 1/1, Falchion Knife at 1/2, Gladius Daggers at 1/4, and Hook at 1/16 within its category.
Those figures do not by themselves establish the overall probability of obtaining a particular named weapon. Multiplying a class chance by a variant chance would require the game to use independent rolls and both cited values to match the current version; the reference does not establish those conditions.
What ore choice changes: stats and traits
The recipe guide attributes weapon-class weighting to total ore quantity. A separate forging guide says ore type affects rarity and stat multipliers, and another fan guide describes stats as a weighted average of the recipe’s ores. That means adding a high-multiplier ore to a large recipe may have less influence on the average than using it in a smaller one.

The weighted-ore guide also claims an ore must make up at least 10% of a recipe for a minor trait and 30% for a full trait. Treat those thresholds as that guide’s claims, not confirmed universal rules; check the current game before committing scarce materials to a trait-focused recipe.
How to compare the weapon options
A weapon’s damage per hit is only one part of its usefulness. The fan reference lists individual weapons with damage, attack interval, range, and variant chance, but another third-party database has 23 entries and does not fully match the other reference’s roster or values. Because the listings disagree and are unofficial, neither should be treated as a definitive, current complete roster.
Rank #4
- Damage per hit: relevant when comparing individual strikes, but not enough on its own to establish damage over time.
- Attack interval: a lower interval means more frequent attacks in the cited table’s terminology.
- Reach: the reference reports range in Roblox studs; extra reach may help keep distance from a target.
- Class and variant odds: consider both stages if aiming for a specific model, while remembering the sources do not establish a combined probability.
- Recipe and trait goals: weigh the class probability against the ore types and quantities needed for the stats or traits you want.
No cited source provides controlled, current damage-per-second testing or establishes one weapon as strongest for every build. A ranking would need to specify its game version, player build, and comparison assumptions.

The odds and weapon details here are reproduced in unofficial fan guides. The recipe table’s “Winter 2025 Weight System” label identifies the guide’s stated system, but does not prove that its values remain current. Recent search-engine crawl dates likewise do not confirm that a game mechanic or roster is unchanged. No developer-maintained documentation or current in-game verification is established by these sources, so use the figures as reported reference points rather than guarantees.
