To reach every signature fish in Mariana’s Veil, progress through its layers in order: catch Magma Leviathan, Frozen Leviathan, and Crowned Anglerfish to open the Calm Zone fishing gate, then solve the chess puzzle and defeat Scylla to reach the final layer. The three gate fish prefer Truffle Worm; Crystallized Seadragon and Scylla prefer Shark Head. These are current wiki-reported requirements, not guaranteed catch odds.
Mariana’s Veil fish requirements at a glance
“Secret fish” is often used informally for the signature fish associated with the Veil’s layers. Current detailed Fisch Wiki pages classify four of these five as Exotic; only Scylla is labeled Secret. Rarity labels can change with game updates. The unofficial fan-made wiki pages were updated September 25, 2026.

How to unlock every layer and reach the fish
1. Assemble and use the submarine
The Mariana’s Veil entrance is beneath the Coral Reef at Roslit Bay. Speak with Dr. Glimmerfin behind the lighthouse and assemble the submarine parts to begin the descent. 2. Reach Volcanic Vents
Volcanic Vents is the first layer. Heat rises over time, and a lava parkour route leads to its fishing area. Local fish including Inferno Hide, Infernal Iguanafish, and Blisterback Blenny are used for the first suit and submarine upgrade, which support onward progression. Volcanic Vents layer guide
3. Reach Challenger’s Deep
Progression calls for Cryoskin, Polar Prowler, and the first Glimmerfin suit for cold protection and the submarine’s ice upgrade. 4. Reach Abyssal Zenith
Listed progression materials include Abyssal Bearded Seadevil, Voidglow Ghostfish, Angler’s Lantern, and the second suit. The layer guide says an Angler’s Lantern is obtained by feeding an Orca or Kraken to an angler. Crowned Anglerfish is caught in Abyssal Zenith with preferred bait Truffle Worm. 5. Open the Calm Zone fishing gate
Complete the Calm Zone parkour route, then place one each of Magma Leviathan, Frozen Leviathan, and Crowned Anglerfish on the gate pedestals. This opens access to the Rainbow Pool, where Calm Zone fish such as Crystallized Seadragon can be caught. Mariana’s Veil overview

6. Solve the chess puzzle and reach Veil of the Forsaken
At the back of Calm Zone, move the four chess statues to their correct positions within one minute. According to the wiki, correctly placed statues turn green and a trapdoor opens to the final layer. Mariana’s Veil overview
7. Defeat Scylla to fish in the final layer
During the Scylla boss fight, collect the three marked bow pieces and place them at the entrance’s top to defeat the boss. The wiki says Scylla only needs to be defeated once to fish in Veil of the Forsaken. Scylla prefers Shark Head; a hunt expires after 15 minutes if the fish is not caught. Scylla entry

What to expect when reeling in the rare catches
Several fish have severe reeling penalties, which affect the catch process rather than acting as a spawn requirement. The fish pages list -90% progress speed for Frozen Leviathan and -95% for Crowned Anglerfish, Crystallized Seadragon, and Scylla. These figures are reeling penalties, not catch probabilities; no exact odds or average attempts are established in the consulted pages. Which requirements are easy to misread?
- Summer is not a proven exclusive for Magma Leviathan. Its page lists Summer alongside Day and Foggy, but also says it can be caught in other seasons.
- Use Truffle Worm for the three gate fish. Shark Head is the listed preferred bait for Crystallized Seadragon and Scylla.
- Do not confuse rarity with guide grouping. Four of the five signature fish are currently listed as Exotic in their detailed entries, while Scylla is Secret; the labels may change by version.
- Check the individual fish record for conditions. The consulted pages do not establish time, weather, or season restrictions for every fish.
