The most reliable way to farm XP in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is to choose a supported mode you can play consistently, use challenges that fit that session, and spend the right XP token on the progression you actually want. There is no verified universal fastest mode or published XP-per-hour comparison. Player XP, weapon XP, and Battle Pass progress are separate goals, so plan for one at a time.
First, choose which XP you want
“Leveling up” can mean several different things. Your player level unlocks items and leads toward Prestige; weapon levels unlock weapon progression and feed into Weapon Prestige; Battle Pass progress is another track. A session can advance more than one goal, but the best setup depends on which one matters most.
- Player level: earn Level XP toward the initial 55 military levels before Prestige.
- Weapon level or Weapon Prestige: equip the weapon you want to progress and use Double Weapon XP when you have it.
- Battle Pass: the sources cited here do not establish a best mode or a rate for Battle Pass progress. Do not assume that a player- or weapon-XP token increases it.
Which mode is best for XP?
There is no source-backed winner. Activision says gameplay in Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone earns XP toward player progression; its Multiplayer overview also names Dead Ops Arcade 4 as a Level XP source, while that overview places Warzone’s inclusion at Season 1. Mode availability and progression pathways can vary by category and season, so check the current in-game progression information rather than treating every mode list as interchangeable.
Official descriptions explain which modes award progression, but do not provide controlled XP-per-hour comparisons. Community recommendations for a particular playlist or mode are personal reports, not measured rankings. Pick a mode in which you can complete activities consistently and meet the challenges available to you.

How to farm player XP efficiently
- Check your next unlock. Open Career > Progression > Level Unlocks and see what the next player level awards and which mode supports the unlock.
- Choose a mode you can sustain. Select a supported mode where you reliably finish matches or activities; a theoretical advantage is not useful if the mode is a poor fit for you.
- Match challenges to that session. Review Daily and Weekly Challenges and prioritize ones you can complete during normal play. Challenges are available across modes, including co-op, and can award XP and unlocks.
- Reroll a poor Daily Challenge if appropriate. The Call of Duty Multiplayer overview says one Daily Challenge can be rerolled per mode day. Use the reroll when the offered objective does not fit your planned session.
- Use Double XP for player XP. Activate a Double XP token for a focused session in which you will be earning player XP. Token availability and duration depend on the token you own.
How to level a weapon
Equip the weapon you want to progress and use it in a supported mode. Activision says weapons gain levels across supported modes, including Co-Op Campaign, and identifies Double Weapon XP tokens as a way to shorten the Weapon Prestige grind. Check the weapon’s current and maximum level in the Weapon and Gunsmith menus.
- Keep the target weapon equipped during a session intended to level it.
- Work on relevant weapon challenges when they naturally fit the activity; this is an efficient way to combine objectives, not a guaranteed XP multiplier.
- Activate Double Weapon XP—not Double XP—when your main aim is weapon progression.
- Choose the mode where you can keep using the weapon consistently. The available official information does not show that one mode levels weapons fastest for everyone.
Use tokens and limited-time rewards carefully
Tokens are specific to a progression type: Double XP is for player XP, while Double Weapon XP is for weapon leveling. Check the token’s description and remaining duration before activating it, then start a session where you can make steady progress during its active window.

Token sources can be temporary. For example, Call of Duty’s Season 05 Reloaded announcement listed a one-hour Double Weapon XP token among Last Call event rewards, earnable through XP in Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, and Warzone. Separately, Call of Duty League’s Major III viewership promotion rules listed timed 60-minute XP and Weapon XP tokens for dated 2026 broadcasts, subject to account and redemption requirements. These are examples of past or dated reward routes, not promises that the same offers are currently available. Check the active event terms and eligibility before planning around one.

- Decide whether the session is for player level or a particular weapon.
- Check the next player unlock or the weapon’s level in the relevant menu.
- Pick a supported mode you enjoy and can play consistently.
- Choose Daily and Weekly Challenges that overlap with that mode and goal; reroll one Daily Challenge per mode day if the available task is a poor fit.
- Equip the target weapon if weapon progression is the goal.
- Activate only the matching token when you are ready to play through its active window.
This plan combines normal play with overlapping objectives. It does not guarantee a particular amount of XP or a fixed time to reach a level.
