The “this week” in the original headline referred to that announcement week, not a current reveal: EA followed with a multiplayer showcase on July 31, 2025, and the game launched on October 10, 2025.
When was Battlefield 6 officially revealed?
The first official reveal trailer went live on July 24, 2025. EA called it the world’s first full look at the game, introducing its central conflict and showing broad elements of the single-player campaign and multiplayer. It was a cinematic announcement, not a complete demonstration of how every gameplay system works. EA’s reveal announcement also set a separate date for the multiplayer presentation.
What did the first trailer show?
EA introduced Pax Armata, a private military corporation the company described as bankrolled by former NATO states. The trailer tied the threat to both the returning single-player campaign and multiplayer, with large-scale combat, destructible buildings and walls, tanks, fighter jets, and squad play among the features highlighted by EA.
Those were the announcement’s themes and feature highlights; the trailer alone did not establish the full scope or performance of the game’s systems.

What was announced at the July 31 multiplayer reveal?
EA scheduled the multiplayer reveal for Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. PDT / 2:30 p.m. EDT, streaming on YouTube and Twitch. Creator gameplay streams were planned for Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, and London, with an additional event in Hong Kong on August 2. EA’s multiplayer announcement expanded on the setting and the features it planned for the game.
Setting and combat systems
EA said the story was set in 2027. Its fictional crisis follows a high-profile assassination and the departure of major European countries from NATO, with Pax Armata positioned as a powerful private military corporation. EA also described new movement and gunplay under the Kinesthetic Combat System, including Drag and Revive and weapon mounting.

Classes, modes, and Portal
The July 31 announcement named the returning Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer classes, along with enhanced destruction and both new and returning multiplayer modes. EA’s launch announcement later listed Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill, and the new Escalation mode. Portal also returned as a toolset for creating community experiences. These are EA’s descriptions of the game, not independent assessments of how well the systems or modes play.
EA said Battlefield Studios included Criterion Games, DICE, Motive Studio, and Ripple Effect.

When did Battlefield 6 launch, and on what platforms?
EA announced an October 10, 2025 launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store. On October 16, EA said the game was available on those platforms. That confirms the platforms EA announced and its subsequent availability statement; it does not establish current store stock, regional availability, edition formats, or prices. EA’s October 16 launch release also reported the game’s initial sales and engagement.

In its October 16, 2025 release, Electronic Arts reported more than 7 million copies sold during the first three days, 172 million online matches played during the three-day launch weekend, and 15 million hours watched on streaming services during that weekend. EA called the launch the largest in franchise history. These are company-reported figures; the cited release does not provide independent validation of them.

A later EA release associated the game with Circana’s “2025 Year-to-Date U.S. Top 20 Games” list for January 5 through November 1, 2025. That is a U.S. ranking through that cutoff date, not a full-year global ranking. EA’s later ranking announcement identifies the period and geography.
