To make a Strength II Potion in Minecraft, brew a Water Bottle with Nether Wart to create an Awkward Potion, add Blaze Powder to make a Potion of Strength, then add Glowstone Dust to upgrade it to Strength II. Use Blaze Powder in the Brewing Stand’s fuel slot as well.
What you need
- A Brewing Stand
- Blaze Powder for the stand’s fuel slot and the Strength ingredient
- A Water Bottle
- Nether Wart
- Glowstone Dust
How to brew Strength II
- Place Blaze Powder in the Brewing Stand’s fuel slot.
- Put the Water Bottle in a bottle slot and Nether Wart in the ingredient slot. Brew until the bottle becomes an Awkward Potion.
- Leave the Awkward Potion in a bottle slot, add Blaze Powder to the ingredient slot, and brew to make a Potion of Strength.
- Replace the ingredient with Glowstone Dust and brew again. The result is a Potion of Strength II.
Why use Glowstone Dust?
Glowstone Dust raises a potion’s level, producing Strength II from a Potion of Strength. Redstone Dust instead extends a potion’s duration; it does not make this recipe Strength II. The cited reference lists Strength II with a duration of 1:30. Minecraft Wiki: Potion of Strength
What Strength II does
The damage increase depends on the game edition. In Java Edition, Strength II increases melee damage by 6 HP; Bedrock Edition uses different damage scaling, so that figure should not be applied to Bedrock. Minecraft Wiki: Potion of Strength
