A 2024 report said The Great Dark Beyond cards appeared early in some Hearthstone players’ collections after an anniversary map was distributed around patch 30.6. Blizzard confirmed that the expansion contained 145 cards and launched on November 5, 2024, but its announcement does not confirm the alleged leak, its cause, or that every card was exposed. The story is historical: Blizzard’s separately announced 2026 expansion, Reign of the Black Empire, is scheduled for October 20, 2026.
What the 2024 Hearthstone leak report said
VPEsports reported that cards from The Great Dark Beyond began appearing in player collections after distribution of a Hearthstone anniversary map associated with patch 30.6. According to that account, players could see the cards but could not craft them. The report attributed the claim to ResetEra users; it did not identify a named Blizzard source or provide a primary incident record. Read the VPEsports account.

That makes the map-triggered explanation a reported account, not a mechanism confirmed by Blizzard in the official materials cited here. The same distinction applies to “all” in the original headline: Blizzard confirmed the set had 145 cards, but the official announcement does not establish that all 145 appeared in collections during the incident.

Starships
Starship Pieces add their stats and effects to a ship under construction when they die. Players can launch the assembled Starship for 5 mana. Blizzard listed dedicated Starship cards for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Druid, Hunter, Rogue, and Warlock.
Draenei and Spellburst
Draenei became a permanent minion type. Many Draenei cards affect the next Draenei played, making the order of plays relevant. Spellburst returned as an effect that triggers the first time its player casts a spell.

Historical pre-release access
Blizzard also announced a pre-release Tavern Brawl for the week before launch, where players could open packs and play with the new cards. Entry included one free run; subsequent entries cost 2 Tavern Tickets, 300 Gold, or 400 Runestones. These were offers for the 2024 pre-release event, not current access or pricing.

The Great Dark Beyond launched in November 2024, so it is not an upcoming expansion as of October 2026. Blizzard’s later announcement identifies Reign of the Black Empire as a different Hearthstone expansion, scheduled to launch October 20, 2026. Blizzard’s BlizzCon 2026 announcement.
