Warlord’s Ruin contains 10 Bones of Hefnd, also called Ahamkara Bones. Nine sit behind Taken-magic doors that require Tier 1, 2, or 3 dispels; the tenth is beside the final reward chest after Hefnd’s Vengeance. This route follows the dungeon from Rathil to the final boss, with each door’s reported tier called out.
Before you start: dispel tiers and route order
The route below follows KeenGamer’s location guide, published December 4, 2023. It reports that the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest unlocks higher-tier dispels as you progress. The guide says five Dark Ether Tinctures from yellow-bar Screebs are needed at the quest step that enables Tier 1, with further requirements for Tiers 2 and 3. Quest wording and live door behavior may have changed since publication.

KeenGamer also reports that a fireteam member with access to a higher-tier dispel can open that door for teammates. The guide estimates that unlocking all tiers through your own quest progression may take two or three runs; treat that as its estimate, not a guaranteed run count.
Collect Bones 1–5 before the Locus of Wailing Grief encounter, then Bones 6–9 on the route toward the final boss. Bone 10 is at the dungeon’s end. The tiers below follow the individual location descriptions in the guide; its summary list appears to misnumber one Tier 2 entry.

Bones 1–5: before the Locus of Wailing Grief
1. Tier 1 — Fortress before Rathil
Cross the rope bridge guarded by Scorn and enter the keep. Before taking the route on the left toward the first encounter, go straight to the stairs ahead and descend to the sealed door. Dispel it and collect the bone.
2. Tier 1 — Kingsbane Rampants after the prison
Escape the prison and drop through the broken floor into the Kingsbane Rampants. Follow the corridors, jump over the floor-spike pit, and climb to the next level. After the first wall-spike trap, check the right side of the hallway for the door.
3. Tier 2 — Prison maze
Continue from Bone 2. Pass through the large break in the wall, then get past the trapped wall. Turn left and follow the hallway to the Tier 2 door, watching for floor traps along the way.
4. Tier 3 — Prison maze near the exit
Continue toward the maze exit from Bone 3. Pass both secret-bonus-chest spawn points until you reach a circular room with locked gates. Take the corridor; where the usual route drops down, jump across the floor opening toward the bright white light to reach the Tier 3 door.
5. Tier 2 — Snowy castle walls
After leaving the maze, look across the broken bridge toward the fortress. The route to the second encounter goes left through a broken grate. Instead, go right around the building and enter the similar broken grate there; it leads to the Tier 2 door.
Bones 6–9: after the Locus of Wailing Grief
6. Tier 2 — Hidden area beyond the courtyard
After the courtyard with mimic bonus chests, platform out of the icy cave. When you enter the next cave, look left for a small break in the rocky wall. Go through the crevice to the hidden area and its Tier 2 door.

7. Tier 1 — Exterior path near the giant Taken orb
Continue from Bone 6 until the path splits toward the mountain interior and the large Taken orb. Do not go inside yet. Follow the exterior path uphill toward a bonus-chest spawn point, then look for a stone corridor cut into the left side. The Tier 1 door is inside.
8. Tier 3 — Lower path inside the mountain
Enter the area with the large Taken orb and climb to an icy safe area on the route upward. Instead of continuing toward the exit, look down for broken rocks that form a lower hidden path. Follow it to the Tier 3 door.

9. Tier 3 — Past the large Taken orb
Continue beyond the large orb to the smaller Taken orb among the broken mountain cliffs. KeenGamer’s guide places a hidden passage directly across from the entrance to this area; follow it to the final Tier 3 door.

10. No dispel door — After Hefnd’s Vengeance
Defeat Hefnd’s Vengeance and reach the tower with the final loot chest. The last bone is to the left of the chest. Pick it up before leaving; unlike Bones 1–9, it is not behind a dispel door.
Sources and scope
The ten-location route and quest-tier details are reported by KeenGamer’s Warlord’s Ruin bone guide (December 4, 2023). Bungie’s Update 7.3.0.3 notes mention a Warlord’s Ruin fix for Master and Solo Flawless Triumph rewards, but do not establish whether bone locations or quest gating have changed. The route and tier behavior here are therefore guide-reported rather than a claim of current in-game verification.
