To become an official Roblox administrator, you must work for Roblox: the company says its administrators and moderators are adults over 18 in paid jobs. Apply through Roblox’s careers listings and meet the requirements for a current opening. If you mean an Admin role in a particular Roblox community, its owner or an authorized manager can assign that community-specific role; it is not Roblox employment and does not give you a staff badge.
What “Roblox admin” can mean
The phrase refers to two different kinds of status. Roblox staff administrators work for the company and are identified by Roblox’s Admin badge. Community Admin is a role within one Roblox community, assigned by that community’s owner or an authorized manager.
| Type | Who grants it | Where it applies | Paid Roblox job? | Official Roblox staff badge? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roblox staff administrator | Roblox, through employment | As part of the person’s Roblox staff role | Yes. Roblox describes administrator and moderator work as paid employment. (Roblox Support) | Yes, Roblox identifies staff with an Admin badge. (Roblox Support) |
| Community Admin | The community owner or an authorized role manager | That specific community, according to the permissions assigned | No. It is a community permission, not employment at Roblox. | No. A community role does not confer Roblox staff status. (Roblox Support) |
How to pursue a job at Roblox
Roblox does not establish a single job title called “administrator” as a route to a staff badge. Search its current openings and apply for a role whose listed requirements match your experience. Openings can change, so check the live listings rather than assuming a particular job is available.
- Search current openings: Go to Roblox View Jobs and look for roles that fit your skills.
- Check the age requirement: Roblox’s employment help page says applicants must be at least 18. Read How can I work for Roblox? for the company’s guidance.
- Follow the specific listing: Use the official application link and satisfy the qualifications and steps shown for that job. Applying does not guarantee a job or an administrator badge.
Early-career opportunities
Roblox also describes internships, full-time roles, and PhD opportunities on its Early Careers at Roblox page. These are career paths, not guaranteed administrator positions. For relevant applications, Roblox says assessments may cover skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, and coding; check the current program details for the role you are considering.

How to get an Admin role in a Roblox community
If you mean a community rather than Roblox employment, ask its owner or an authorized manager whether they can assign you a role. Roblox’s Community Roles and Permissions guidance explains that roles carry permissions within that community. The exact abilities depend on the permissions assigned; the title “Admin” does not make you a Roblox employee or give you authority across the platform.

Roblox says staff display an Admin indicator next to their display name and are marked in experience leaderboards. Its guidance is clear: “Roblox administrators will never ask you for your password.” See How can I tell who is a Roblox Staff member or Admin?
