How to unlock Unbound Cavern
Continue the main story into Chapter 2: Universal Furnace and progress through the Accident quest. Unbound Cavern becomes available as the story advances, according to Game8’s Rock Solid guide, last updated February 20, 2026. The reviewed guides do not establish a specific game patch or region variation.
How to get Rock Solid
- Unlock the story route. Progress through the Accident quest in Chapter 2: Universal Furnace until Unbound Cavern becomes available.
- Complete the Unbound Cavern campaign. Follow its side-story route through the cavern and onward to the boss sequence. The GameTrek walkthrough, updated March 6, 2026, outlines the route and lists the Rock Solid: Tome among the rewards.
- Defeat Dao Lord in Ghostlight Market. Game8 identifies this as the end of the Unbound Cavern campaign and says completing it awards Rock Solid.
- Claim the reward. Check your Inner Ways list for the Rock Solid tome after completing the campaign.
Optional chests are not identified as a prerequisite for the tome. If you want a full collectible sweep as well, the 100% Unbound Cavern video guide, published December 9, 2025, includes timestamped chest and item locations.
Dao Lord fight: a walkthrough tip
The GameTrek walkthrough describes a second phase in which Dao Lord splits into three forms that attack together. It recommends using ranged attacks when the forms emerge into the air. Treat this as that walkthrough’s combat advice, not as a required mechanic for receiving Rock Solid.
What Rock Solid does
Game8 describes Rock Solid as an Epic Inner Way associated with the Stonesplit – Might path. Its listed effect increases Stormbreaker Spear’s Storm Roar damage reduction after you taunt a boss or non-boss, up to the stated cap; while that damage-reduction effect is active, damage dealt is reduced by 10%. That makes it a situational defensive choice for Stormbreaker Spear and taunt-focused setups, not a universal upgrade.
