Where you enter a Forza Horizon 5 code depends on what it is: redeem Xbox or Microsoft Store download codes through Microsoft’s account redemption flow, and enter Forza share codes in the in-game workflow for the matching content, such as a tune, livery or EventLab creation. FH5 does not have one general-purpose code-entry screen for both.
First, identify what kind of code you have
- Xbox or Microsoft Store redemption code: This unlocks a product or entitlement for a Microsoft account. Use Microsoft’s Redeem code flow.
- Forza share code: This points to player-created content, such as a car tune, livery, vinyl group or EventLab creation. Use the matching content search or sharing workflow inside FH5.
- Promotional code: Follow the offer’s own instructions. A promotion may provide a Microsoft/Xbox redemption code, but its destination and eligibility depend on its terms.
These code types are not interchangeable. A tune share code does not grant a game or add-on, and a Microsoft redemption code is not entered in an FH5 content search.
Redeem an Xbox or Microsoft Store code
- Open Microsoft’s Redeem code flow.
- Sign in to the Microsoft account that should own the game, add-on or other entitlement.
- Enter or paste the code, then check the product or value displayed before confirming.
- Complete redemption only if the displayed item is the one you expect.
Microsoft says download codes and tokens are redeemed to a Microsoft account. If you are using a console, PC or app instead of the web page, choose its Microsoft/Xbox Store redemption option and check that you are signed into the intended account; the exact interface can vary by device.
Enter a Forza share code in the matching content workflow
Launch FH5 and open the in-game area for the type of content the code represents. Follow the current on-screen prompts to search for or apply it. A tune share code belongs in tune setups; livery and vinyl-group codes belong in their corresponding design content workflows; EventLab codes belong in the EventLab discovery or sharing workflow.

Finding a tune
A 2026 secondary guide gives this example path: Cars > Tune Car > Setup Manager > Find Tuning Setups > Search. Treat it as a menu hint: labels and navigation may differ by platform or game version, so use the current prompts in your game if the path does not match.
Finding other creations
For liveries, vinyl groups and EventLab creations, choose the relevant design or EventLab content area rather than the tune search. The exact current menu labels and share-code format are not established by official Forza documentation in the sources available here; do not assume every code has the same format or length.

If a code does not work or content is missing
- Check the code type and destination. An account entitlement belongs in Microsoft’s redemption flow; a share code belongs in the corresponding FH5 content workflow.
- Check the signed-in account. For an entitlement, confirm that you redeemed it on the Microsoft account you are using to access the game or add-on.
- Check the displayed product before confirming. If the item, platform or promotion terms do not match what you expected, stop and consult the issuer’s instructions.
- Look in the relevant destination. A redeemed entitlement may appear in the account’s library or, for an in-game reward, in the part of FH5 where that item is delivered. A successful redemption does not by itself establish that the item should appear in a particular menu immediately.
- Use official troubleshooting for redemption errors. Microsoft’s redemption support page links to help for redemption problems and Xbox error or status codes. For promotion-specific issues, check the offer’s conditions and contact its issuer.
Check promotional terms before redeeming
Promotional offers can have their own instructions and conditions. Confirm the supported platform, region, expiration date and account requirements on the specific offer, and verify where its code must be entered. Do not assume that every promotion is still active or that its code goes into FH5.
