Enable the hidden cheat mode on Windows
- Open your Windows user’s
Documentsfolder, commonlyC:UsersYourNameDocuments. - Create a new, blank file named exactly
WWSSADADBA, with no extension. - If Windows saves it as
WWSSADADBA.txt, rename it to remove.txtand accept the extension-change warning. Make sure file extensions are visible or otherwise verify the complete filename. - Launch Escape from Duckov, then try one of the controls below.
If the shortcuts do not work, check the spelling, Documents location, and whether a hidden .txt extension remains. Create or rename the file before launching the game again. This is the documented Windows procedure; the sources do not establish equivalent steps for macOS or Linux, or confirm the file trigger for every game build. All Things How’s guide documents the procedure; the Workshop description independently corroborates the filename and location.

Cheat-mode keyboard shortcuts

The guide says item IDs appear when you hover over items in inventory, containers, vendors, or loot. The item-entry controls—including *, +, and -—require a numeric keypad; the number row above the letters typically will not work. If your keyboard lacks one, an external full-size keyboard with a number pad is an option, but no hardware purchase is needed to activate cheat mode.
All Things How reports that god mode may not prevent every kind of damage or scripted event. Treat that as a reported caveat rather than a guarantee that every hazard is blocked. Source: All Things How

Use the official Cheat Mode command box
The official version 1.3.13 notes, dated December 30, 2025, describe a command input box separately from the keyboard-shortcut item spawning: “In Cheat Mode, press the “`” key to open the command input box.” The command listed is give [itemTypeID] [amount(optional)]. Replace [itemTypeID] with the item type ID; the amount is optional. This release-note entry confirms the command box exists in that version, but does not explain how to activate Cheat Mode with the WWSSADADBA file. Official version history

The built-in file method is the straightforward starting point because it does not require installing a mod. A Workshop mod is optional, not a prerequisite. The official announcements have warned that a malicious Workshop mod used embedded code for a phishing scam; it was removed and its author banned. Before installing any mod, inspect its creator and current listing rather than assuming a cheat-related mod is trustworthy. Official Steam announcements
