Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor a new melee-focused character in Solo Hunters, put most early stat points into Strength and add Defense if you are dying or struggling to stay in melee range. Do not spread points evenly across every attribute by default. Leave Energy and Agility for later unless dash capacity or movement speed is holding you back; invest in Magic Power when abilities become a meaningful part of your damage.
What each stat does
Fan-made references describe five character attributes. The Solo Hunters Wiki reports two stat points per level, but it is not developer-published documentation, and the sources do not establish official formulas for how much each point changes a stat.
| Stat | Reported effect | Early-game use |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | Increases melee or physical weapon damage, including basic M1 attacks, according to the guides. | Prioritize it when most of your damage comes from weapon attacks. |
| Defense | Raises health and, according to AllThingsHow, reduces damage taken from enemies. | Add points if you are dying often or cannot stay close enough to attack. |
| Magic Power | Increases ability damage. | Consider it when skills make up a substantial share of your damage. |
| Energy | Expands the resource bar used for dashes, according to AllThingsHow. | Defer it unless you repeatedly run out of dashes. |
| Agility | Raises movement speed. Sources disagree about whether it also affects attack speed, so that effect is not established. | Defer it unless traversal speed is a specific problem. |

How to allocate points early
There is no substantiated universal best ratio. The guides offer different starting heuristics: Solo Hunters DB suggests investing 10–20 points in Defense before focusing on Strength, while AllThingsHow recommends keeping Strength and Defense roughly balanced through around level 50. Neither recommendation is presented as a controlled build comparison or an official optimum.

- Start with your main damage source. If weapon attacks are doing most of the work, favor Strength.
- Respond to survival problems. If you are dying frequently or having to disengage before you can finish fights, add Defense instead of continuing to invest blindly in damage.
- Keep secondary stats situational. Avoid spreading points across all five attributes just to make the character look balanced. Hold Energy and Agility near their starting levels unless their specific benefits address a recurring problem.
Use the two guide recommendations as starting ideas, not fixed targets. Your useful split depends on whether damage or survivability is currently limiting your progress.
When to invest in Magic Power
AllThingsHow suggests reconsidering Magic Power at around level 50, when ability sets and cooldowns may make skills a larger share of damage. That is an approximate guide heuristic, not a verified game breakpoint. A better signal is your own damage pattern: begin investing when abilities contribute meaningfully, especially if you regularly chain skills as they come off cooldown. Maintain enough Strength and Defense for the parts of your build that still rely on weapon attacks and staying alive.

What to skip early
- Do not distribute every point evenly by default. A melee-oriented beginner build has a clearer early use for Strength, with Defense added as needed.
- Do not invest heavily in Energy without a dash problem. Consider it when you repeatedly run out of dashes, rather than as an automatic early priority.
- Do not invest heavily in Agility without a movement problem. The guides describe movement speed as its benefit, but disagree on whether it also affects attack speed.
- Do not rush Magic Power just because a guide names a level. The cited level-50 suggestion is approximate; your abilities’ actual contribution is a more useful indicator.
- Do not rely on an exact “optimal” split. The available guides differ, and no controlled comparison or official stat formula establishes one.
How to reset character stats
AllThingsHow describes a Reset control on the Stats screen for refunding character points. It also says codes may provide free resets and that other reset routes may involve Robux or premium options. The fan-made Solo Hunters Wiki lists the code RESETMYSTATS and says Magic Fruit can reset stats. These details can change; check the current in-game interface and a current code list before building around a reset.
Do not confuse resetting character points with rerolling equipment stats. AllThingsHow describes Stat Crystal and Perfect Stat Cube as gear-stat reroll items sold by the Merchant, not as ways to redistribute character points. The guide lists prices of 7,500 Gold and 30,000 Gold respectively; those are changeable in-game prices and are not necessary for deciding how to allocate character stats.
