What is A Safehouse in the Hills?
Rockstar released A Safehouse in the Hills as GTAV Title Update 1.72. It adds Mansion properties, missions, vehicles and a Mission Creator. Its two central additions are the mansion ownership and management layer, and the Avi Schwartzman-led KnoWay Out story missions. Rockstar’s November 20, 2025 announcement introduced the update; the detailed Title Update 1.72 notes were last updated April 9, 2026.

Rockstar’s update announcement also described temporary New Listings campaign rewards: eligible Gold Tier completion offered a GTA$1,000,000 bonus and a GTA$2,000,000 discount on the forthcoming mansion properties. Those rewards were tied to a campaign deadline and should not be treated as currently available.
How do you get a mansion in GTA Online?
Purchase one of the three customizable Mansion properties through the in-game Prix Luxury Real Estate website. Rockstar’s update notes do not establish that a mansion must be owned to access the five KnoWay Out missions, so check the in-game mission prompts rather than assuming ownership is a prerequisite.

What do the GTA Online mansions include?
Mansions combine practical business and vehicle functions with rooms and activities for customization. Rockstar lists the following features:
Business tools and security
- AI Assistant: Choose Angel, Haviland or OG. The assistant can temporarily boost a chosen business’s production speed, fast-travel you to owned properties or businesses, and host mansion parties. The assistant is also available as a Freemode phone contact.
- Master Control Terminal: The office terminal provides remote access to several owned business operations.
- Security staff: Staff can reduce the chance that owned businesses are raided. For a business with its relevant Security upgrade, they can eliminate that risk.
Garage, Nightclub and Vault
The basement includes a garage with space for 20 vehicles, a private Nightclub and a personal cash Vault. The Vault holds the player’s cash across both wallet and bank account.
Rooms, activities and pets
Listed indoor amenities include a Media Room, Spa, Cigar Room, Salon and Trophy Cabinets for milestones and achievements. Outside, gym equipment and yoga mats can build Strength and Stamina and provide additional temporary stat bonuses. A rooftop helipad supports aerial entry and exit. Cats and dogs are also available to purchase and appear around the mansion.
Optional rooms and vehicle features
- Armory: Includes a Mk II Weapon Workshop, purchasable weapons and a gun rack.
- Arcade: Lets you place arcade cabinets you own.
- Vehicle Podium: Displays a personal vehicle.
- Vehicle Workshop: Allows personal vehicle modifications. Rockstar says GTA+ members with the mansion workshop receive the same exclusive HSW, Benny’s Original Motor Works and Drift Tuning options granted in the Vinewood Club Garage.
How many Avi Schwartzman missions are there, and can you play KnoWay Out solo?
KnoWay Out consists of five new Story Missions, playable by one to four players. That means solo play is supported; Rockstar’s notes do not establish whether reward amounts or other mission outcomes vary with group size.

Rockstar’s official premise is that Avi Schwartzman contacts players with information about KnoWay, described as a new self-driving taxi company. The published update notes do not provide a full plot synopsis, so details beyond that setup should not be assumed.
Career Progress challenges for these missions are specified for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced on PC. This qualification applies to Career Progress challenges; it is not a blanket statement that the missions themselves are exclusive to those platforms.
What is KnoWay in GTA Online?
KnoWay is the new self-driving taxi company at the center of Avi Schwartzman’s mission setup. Rockstar’s description says Avi has information about the company and introduces the five-mission story content under the name KnoWay Out. The update notes do not establish more about the company’s story or operations.
Which vehicles and creation tools came with the update?
The initial vehicle list in Rockstar’s notes includes the Vapid FMJ MK V, Progen Luiva, Pfister X-treme, Übermacht Sentinel XS4 and Grotti GT750. The FMJ MK V is a Super with an HSW upgrade; Rockstar scopes that HSW upgrade to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and GTAV Enhanced on PC. The FMJ MK V and Progen Luiva had timed GTA+ early access through December 18, 2025, after which the notes say they became available for general purchase.

The update also adds a Mission Creator for making and publishing missions. Rockstar lists five example missions that players can play and edit within the Creator.

Rockstar’s notes do not say that mansion ownership is required for the story missions. They also do not specify reward differences by party size, so neither point should be inferred from the feature list.
Platform and update qualifications
Not every feature has the same platform scope. The Career Progress challenges for KnoWay Out and the FMJ MK V’s HSW upgrade are specifically listed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and GTAV Enhanced on PC. The GTA+ qualification applies to the named workshop tuning options. Check the current in-game availability and Rockstar’s updated notes before relying on a feature’s platform or membership requirements, since Title Update 1.72 has received later fixes.
