Can PC and Xbox players play Voidtrain together?
Yes. HypeTrain Digital said when Voidtrain reached version 1.0 on 7 November 2025 that it supports cross-play with EGS and Xbox “across all platforms.” The developer’s release announcement is the clearest confirmation of PC–Xbox compatibility.
Steam’s store page also lists cross-platform multiplayer, and the Xbox Store advertises cross-platform multiplayer and co-op. Those listings support the answer for players asking whether Steam and Xbox users can play together.
How many players can join online co-op?
The Xbox Store lists online co-op for 2–4 players; Steam describes online co-op for up to four. These are store-listed limits, not a promise that every session will have four available slots under every mode or setup.

What should you check if cross-play is not working?
The official sources confirm the capability, but they do not document a specific cross-platform invite sequence, account-linking requirement, or detailed compatibility rules for each PC storefront. Avoid assuming that a connection problem means PC and Xbox are incompatible.
- Make sure both players have updated the game.
- Use the game’s current multiplayer or invite options to try joining the same session.
- If it still fails, check for a newer developer notice or contact support; the available official guidance does not establish a universal fix or a required account setup.
In a 26 February 2026 notice for Small Hotfix 1.05, HypeTrain Digital said that update did not affect cross-play. That statement applies to that hotfix, not necessarily to every later update or an individual connection issue. The developer’s notices are posted on Steam.

Does playing on Xbox require Game Pass?
The Xbox Store listing says online multiplayer on an Xbox console requires Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate. The listing also shows Voidtrain included with Premium and Ultimate, but subscription benefits and catalog availability can change. Check the current Xbox listing for the terms that apply to your account and region.
The Xbox Store’s supported-platform information includes Xbox Series X|S and PC, as well as Xbox Cloud Gaming and Handheld. That listing does not by itself establish cross-save or shared purchase entitlements between platforms.
