Nex Playground ranked ahead of one PS5 model in a U.S. weekly hardware-SKU ranking—not ahead of the PS5 family overall. For the week ending November 22, 2025, it placed second by units sold, between the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle and the PS5 Slim Digital 1 TB.
What the weekly ranking actually measured
Circana analyst Mat Piscatella shared a list of U.S. best-selling hardware SKUs for the week ending November 22, 2025. As reported by Insider Gaming, the order was:
- Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle
- Nex Playground Interactive Gaming System
- PS5 Slim Digital 1 TB
That is a ranking of individual hardware SKUs for one week, not a count of total sales or market share. The list does not establish how many units separated the products, and it does not compare Nex Playground with all PS5 models combined.
How the Black Friday comparison differs
A separate Circana comparison for Black Friday week gives a broader picture of hardware unit sales in that period: PS5 accounted for 47%, Nintendo Switch 2 for 24%, and Nex Playground for 14%, according to GameSpot. Piscatella noted that Black Friday promotions affect results; PS5 received the most extensive discounting and saw a substantial sales lift. These figures cover a different week and metric from the November 22 SKU ranking, so they do not contradict Nex’s second-place SKU finish.

What the Nex Playground is
Nex Playground is a TV-connected active-play game system. Its wide-angle camera and motion engine let players control games by moving in front of the screen, rather than holding a game controller. The included remote is for setup and navigating game selection, not gameplay.
The manufacturer lists HDMI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, power and HDMI cables, and a magnetic privacy cover in the box. It recommends roughly 6 ft × 6 ft of play space and says the system is intended for ages 5 and up. The company says children ages 3 and 4 may enjoy more games with an adult or older sibling; these are manufacturer recommendations, not independent suitability tests. See the Nex Playground product page for its current setup and product details.
