AYN’s August 2025 reveal introduced two Android handhelds: Odin 3, the successor to Odin 2, and Thor, a separate dual-screen clamshell. Thor’s early teaser left its identity unclear, but later reporting described its displays and hardware. AYN now lists Odin 3 for pre-order; its price and order details may change.
What AYN’s reveal actually confirmed
On 19 August 2025, Notebookcheck reported that AYN had confirmed Odin 3 was in development and teased a new product called Thor. At that point, few specifications were public. The idea that Thor might be a smaller Odin 3 was community speculation, not an AYN-confirmed description. The announcement also indicated that neither device would be x86-based. Notebookcheck’s 19 August report
Android Central’s 20 August 2025 coverage identified Thor as a dual-screen Android clamshell, while describing Odin 3 as the successor to Odin 2 and Odin 2 Portal. The pairing was notable: one device carried forward AYN’s conventional handheld line, while the other introduced a hinged, two-screen design. Android Central’s announcement coverage
What is the AYN Thor?
Thor is AYN’s dual-screen Android gaming handheld, with a clamshell layout rather than the standard single-screen handheld shape. Android Central’s 20 August 2025 specification report listed a 6-inch FHD AMOLED upper display running at 120Hz and a 3.92-inch OLED lower display at 60Hz. It also reported Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 configurations, a 6,000mAh battery, and a weight of 380g. Those figures are attributed to that dated report; they are not independent test measurements. Android Central’s Thor specifications report

AYN’s current homepage describes Thor with Qualcomm 8 Gen 2, a customized FHD 6-inch AMOLED touchscreen, Android 13, and a 6,000mAh battery. It does not give a complete current side-by-side specification sheet, so the earlier report remains the source for the lower display, refresh rates, alternative configuration, and weight. Quick Recap
What to check before ordering Odin 3
- Confirm the live AYN page’s price, selected configuration, backorder status, and shipping estimate; the listing’s price and batch details can change.
- Check which processor name appears on the current seller page and distinguish it from the wording in dated coverage.
- Account for the fact that AYN says games are not preinstalled. A microSD slot is reported for Odin 3, but the cited sources do not establish a particular card capacity or speed recommendation.
- Review the current pre-order offer and warranty terms on AYN’s listing rather than assuming the TPU case or other terms will remain unchanged.
