Start from the raised ground and branch beside it, climb the debris and branches around its outside, cross a rope grip to the inner rim, then follow the rim to a spork that leads onto the top. If you’re going there for the Signals and Stashes transmitter, bring a Gas Mask or equivalent in-game protection.
Where is the trash can?
Look in the Entrance Area, in the western-middle part of Brookhollow Park. A small branch on the retaining wall points toward the can and provides a nearby starting landmark. The Entrance Area guide identifies the location and branch.
How to climb the trash can
Use the elevated terrain beside the can to reach its climbing route. The available guides describe slightly different landmarks, so treat them as a general path rather than a precise turn-by-turn map; follow the visible branches and climbable debris in-game.
- Reach the upper ledges. Approach from the raised ground beside the can and use the nearby branch or twig to reach the elevated rim.
- Climb the outside. Work upward over the debris and branches attached to the can.
- Cross to the inner rim. Use the rope grip to get across, then continue along the rim toward the cutlery.
- Get onto the top. Follow the rim to the spork or other plastic cutlery and use it to climb onto the can’s top.
The Signals and Stashes walkthrough describes the rope-grip crossing and spork route. Gamer Guides’ route describes approaching from the western hill, crossing a twig to the rim, and climbing via objects and cutlery. Both accounts agree on the main landmarks: elevated terrain, an upward route around the can, and cutlery for the final climb.

How to reach the transmitter for Signals and Stashes
The transmitter is on top of the can, on a billy hog tray, and the quest guide says an O.R.C. Stinkbug guards it. Bring a Gas Mask or equivalent in-game protection for the route described by that guide. After you hack the transmitter, the walkthrough says two O.R.C. Bees are marked on the map as the next objective. The quest walkthrough covers the transmitter and follow-up task; GameSpot’s quest guide also identifies the trash can and picnic table as the mission’s two transmitter locations and describes the ascent as a narrow route using limbs and ropes.

- Return to the nearby raised terrain and look for the branch or twig that connects it to the can.
- Keep climbing around the can’s outside until you find the rope grip leading toward the inner rim.
- Once on the rim, follow it toward the spork or plastic cutlery rather than searching for a separate ladder.
- Use the visible climbable path as your guide; the third-party descriptions differ in some route landmarks and exact transmitter placement wording.
