How to collect petals and find recipe cards

Catch petals with a net

Cherry-blossom petals drift through the air around the island. Equip a net and swing at a passing petal as you would when catching a bug. Their appearances are random, so gather them whenever you spot them rather than expecting a fixed spawn point.

Hunt floating balloon presents for recipes

Floating presents are the main source of seasonal recipe cards. Drops are random: a balloon may contain a non-seasonal recipe, and duplicates can appear, so you may need many attempts to complete the collection.

Watch which direction balloons cross the island and check the corresponding beach; listen for the sound of a balloon overhead as you move around. Animal Crossing World describes appearances as possible on a five-minute cadence beginning around minute four, but a balloon is not guaranteed on every cycle. Treat that timing as a search aid, not a dependable schedule.

Near the start of the season, Isabelle may give the Outdoor Picnic Set recipe during a morning announcement. This is an additional route for that recipe, not a replacement for collecting the other cards.

Animal Crossing World also reports that a message bottle on a Kapp’n boat-tour cherry-blossom island can provide a cherry-blossom recipe. Its guide distinguishes this from ordinary beach message bottles and villager crafting, which it describes as separate recipe pools.
