If Apex Legends displays “Unable to complete EA account sign in (code 105),” first check EA’s service status, then fully restart the game and console. If those steps do not help, check whether your PlayStation Network or Xbox account is linked to the EA Account you intend to use. EA does not currently list Apex Legends Code 105 on its official error-code page, so treat account linking as a plausible cause—not a guaranteed diagnosis.
What Apex Legends Error 105 means
Code 105 appears as an EA account sign-in failure. It is not documented as a hardware fault, and EA’s current Apex Legends error-code guide does not include it. An EA Community Manager said the console error often occurs when a player is trying to log in with an account that has not yet been linked. That makes the account connection an important check, but it does not establish the cause of every Code 105 case. See the EA Forums response about console sign-in.
Do not confuse this console Apex error with EA App error EC:10500. EA describes EC:10500 as an EA Account authentication error for the EA App and offers separate troubleshooting for it; it is not evidence of what console Apex Code 105 means. EA’s EA App error-code guidance covers that separate code.
Try these steps in order

Check whether EA is having a service issue
Check EA’s server status page and the official @PlayApex account for a reported outage. If EA services are unavailable, wait for service to recover before changing account settings or reinstalling the game. EA recommends checking for reported issues in its error-code troubleshooting guidance.

Close Apex Legends and restart the console
Exit the game completely rather than leaving it suspended, then restart the console and launch Apex again. EA recommends restarting the game and system as early troubleshooting steps. This is a low-disruption check before changing network or account settings.

Check the console-to-EA Account link
Confirm which EA Account is connected to your PlayStation Network ID or Xbox Gamertag, and whether that is the account you expect to use. If you are unsure, use EA’s current account and linking instructions before making changes. Do not unlink or relink accounts casually: first confirm account ownership and understand the consequences described in EA’s instructions. The community manager’s explanation makes this a reasonable check, not a universal fix.

Try a different network as a diagnostic
If EA services appear normal and the account link looks correct, test whether the error changes when the console uses another connection, such as a temporary mobile hotspot. One historical PS4 forum report describes reaching an EA terms prompt and then loading normally after switching to a hotspot, but this is an anecdote, not a verified or guaranteed remedy. An old EA Forums staff reply also mentions DNS changes as a possible troubleshooting step. Treat this as an optional experiment rather than an official universal fix, and record your original network settings before changing them. See the forum reply mentioning DNS.

Reinstall only if simpler checks fail
If the error persists after the checks above, reinstall Apex Legends. EA lists reinstalling as a later troubleshooting option and says game progress remains after reinstall. If Code 105 continues, contact EA Support or post in the EA Forums Code 105 discussion. Include the exact error text, your platform, and which checks you have already tried.
What to tell EA if the error remains
When contacting support or posting in the forums, provide the platform (for example, PS4, another PlayStation console, or Xbox), the exact “Unable to complete EA account sign in (code 105)” message, whether EA services were reporting an issue, and whether the console account is linked to the intended EA Account. Note whether the problem changed on another network. These details help distinguish a service interruption, an account-linking issue, and a connection-specific symptom without assuming one cause in advance.
