The June 6, 2025 countdown spotted by ARC Raiders players was a clue to a possible announcement—not confirmation that the game would launch that day. Nexon later announced a worldwide release for October 30, 2025, a date also listed on Steam.
What players reportedly found
In a report published May 23, 2025, Insider Gaming said a brief Steam update included an executable file containing a Base64 string. According to the report, decoding the string led to a countdown ending June 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT. Insider Gaming reported the file and countdown; that account does not establish that Embark or Nexon intended the timer as a release announcement.
Why the countdown sparked release-date speculation
The countdown was due to end as Summer Game Fest began in Los Angeles. That timing led players to speculate that ARC Raiders might launch, receive a release-date announcement, or get another playtest. Those were possibilities raised around the clue, not confirmed plans. The report did not establish what the countdown was meant to reveal.
When ARC Raiders actually launched
Nexon announced on June 9, 2025, that ARC Raiders would launch worldwide on October 30, 2025, for PC and consoles. The official Steam listing also records October 30, 2025, as the release date. The official ARC Raiders website lists updates and says the game supports play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
