ARC Raiders’ next major update, Frozen Trail, is scheduled for October 8, 2026. Embark has not announced an exact release time or time zone. The studio says it plans two major updates a year, while smaller live updates will continue in between.
What is in the Frozen Trail update?
Embark describes Frozen Trail as the game’s biggest update since launch. Its August 12 announcement says the release will add a frozen settlement beyond the mountains, designed around vertical exploration and threats both above and below ground. The preview outlines the following additions:
- A new map: a frozen settlement with more verticality and exploration, as well as above-ground and underground dangers.
- A large ARC Operation: a challenge aimed at experienced players.
- New ARC enemies.
- The Outpost: a new space players can inhabit and develop.
- Progression changes: new long-term goals, Skill Tree adjustments and work on Raider Decks.
- Additional gear and content: new weapons, gadgets, cosmetics, instruments and other surprises.
Embark has not listed every addition in the preview; some details were left for later reveals. The studio also said it would keep working on matchmaking, anti-cheat, stability and quality-of-life improvements. Read Embark’s Frozen Trail announcement.
How often will ARC Raiders get major updates?
Embark announced on May 13, 2026, that it was moving away from its monthly major-update plan. Going forward, it said it would release major updates twice a year, with a focus on larger, more impactful changes to how the game plays. The studio described this cadence as a way to make room for deeper work on progression, economy balance and fair play. Read the cadence announcement.

That change does not mean the game will go without updates between major releases. Embark said regular live-service work would continue, including balance adjustments, bug fixes, store updates and player events. June’s Live Update 1.33.0 notes described a plan for substantial updates every six months after October, alongside shorter-term Projects, Events and ongoing live-service work. Embark has not announced a date or title for the major update after Frozen Trail. The twice-a-year plan gives a broad cadence, not a confirmed schedule for a particular follow-up release.
The January–April roadmap reflected the earlier monthly-update approach. For the current plan, Embark’s May cadence announcement and subsequent June update notes are more relevant than that older schedule.
