BlizzCon returned to the Anaheim Convention Center on September 12–13, 2026, and has now concluded. Blizzard’s 2025 announcement that the show would be back “next year” meant 2026; the company’s post-event recap confirms the convention is officially over. No future BlizzCon date is established by the announcements covered here.
When and where did BlizzCon return?
Blizzard announced in 2025 that BlizzCon would take place Saturday and Sunday, September 12–13, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The event has since concluded, according to Blizzard’s post-event recap. The announcement was a plan for 2026, not evidence of a recurring annual schedule or a date for another convention.
Blizzard president Johanna Faries described it as the 15th BlizzCon in the company’s history in a 2025 interview with the Associated Press. That was her description of the event, rather than an independently audited count. Faries said Blizzard wanted not only to bring BlizzCon back but to “elevate it and really over-deliver on people’s expectations”—the company’s stated ambition, not a measurable result.
What happened at BlizzCon 2026?
BlizzCon was an in-person convention spanning Blizzard games and communities, rather than only a stage for announcements. Blizzard’s event materials described an Opening Ceremony, developer panels, hands-on game demos, the Darkmoon Faire, community activities and esports. The post-event recap also highlights cosplay, gatherings and competitions across Blizzard franchises. The return announcement and official event guide outline the planned experience.

Blizzard’s recap named the winners of several competitions: South Korea won the Overwatch World Cup; Team Liquid won the Mythic Dungeon International; Gators Back won the Arena World Championship; OTGxhho won the Hearthstone Masters Tour World Championship; and Team Tasteless won the Blizzard Classic Cup. These are competition results, not a measure of total attendance. The sources do not establish an independent event-wide attendance figure.
Could people watch without attending?
Yes, for selected programming. Blizzard said the Opening Ceremony and major panels would be streamed free for people unable to attend. That did not mean the entire convention was available online: the available event information does not establish that all panels, activities, demos or esports programming were streamed. The livestream details appeared in Blizzard’s pass announcement.

What did a BlizzCon pass include and cost?
Blizzard’s 2025 pass announcement said a standard BlizzCon Pass covered both show days and access to all halls and the arena during show hours. It listed these historical prices:
| Pass price in Blizzard’s 2025 announcement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Early-bird | $249.99 USD |
| Standard | $289.99 USD |
Those were all-in prices stated in the 2025 announcement, not current offers. The event has passed, so the figures are useful only as a record of the original sale.

Was there BlizzCon merchandise?
Blizzard’s event information listed plushies, pins, collectibles and souvenirs, as well as commemorative items for attendees. That establishes merchandise as part of the event’s offerings, but does not show that particular items remain available or that attendee commemoratives were sold generally. The event guide also covered practical details such as registration, hours, accessibility, venue information and policies, including that the convention was cashless.
