Spoilers for an Act One Dark Urge camp event: The Deathstalker Mantle is a Dark Urge story reward, not a chest find or merchant purchase. Progress the Dark Urge’s Act One story until the bard camp event, then complete the night; afterward, Sceleritas Fel visits camp and gives you the mantle. Alfira is the expected bard, but Quil can appear if Alfira is unavailable.
How to get the Deathstalker Mantle
- Play as the Dark Urge origin. The mantle is tied to the Dark Urge’s story and is not described as a reward for an ordinary custom character.
- Progress through Act One until the bard camp event is due. Alfira is the expected visitor. If she is unavailable, Quil may take her place.
- Take a Long Rest to trigger the event. Once the night’s event has played, watch for Sceleritas Fel’s visit to camp; he gives the Deathstalker Mantle. The Act One camp-event reference notes that the visit can be delayed by other queued camp events. If no other mandatory camp event is queued, it can also play automatically after traveling to another region.

What can prevent the reward?
- Another character kills the bard before the Long Rest ends: Sceleritas Fel does not reward the cape in this case, even if the next-morning dialogue proceeds as though the Dark Urge killed the bard. See The Deathstalker Mantle and The Shadow Itself.
- The Dark Urge dies before the night ends: If the Dark Urge is killed after Alfira or Quil appears but before the event concludes, the cutscene does not play and the mantle is not awarded. The event details are listed under The Urge.
What the Deathstalker Mantle does
The cloak grants The Shadow Itself: once per turn, when its wearer directly kills an enemy in combat, the wearer becomes Invisible for two turns. The trigger requires a direct kill while in combat mode; it does not apply simply because an enemy dies nearby. See the item’s properties and the effect details.
