Battlefield 6’s December 2025 update was Winter Offensive, version 1.1.3.0. EA scheduled it to deploy on December 9 at 4 a.m. Pacific Time (12 p.m. UTC) as a required update for Battlefield 6 owners and players of the free-to-play REDSEC experience. It combined seasonal content with a broad set of gameplay, interface, and reliability changes.
What came with Winter Offensive
EA’s December 9 announcement centered the update on limited-time seasonal content as well as changes to the game and its tools. The content and feature additions included:
- The Winter Offensive Limited Event, with a Bonus Path featuring the Ice Climbing Axe functional melee weapon.
- A limited-time frozen treatment for the Empire State map.
- New Portal creator features, including Gauntlet Verified mode.
These additions were part of the Winter Offensive update, not a separate physical product. EA’s announcement describes the rollout for both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Read EA’s Winter Offensive announcement.
What the core patch addressed
The version 1.1.3.0 notes cover more than the event. EA described work across several areas; these are the patch’s stated focus areas, not independently measured outcomes.
