The March 21, 2026, Warzone update brought back two different things: a Solos queue for Black Ops Royale and standard Battle Royale on Verdansk. It did not establish that standard Battle Royale Solos had returned, and it did not mark Verdansk’s first return to Warzone. Playlist availability can change; the available October 2026 patch notes do not confirm which Solos queues are active now.
What did the Warzone update change?
Windows Central reported on March 21, 2026, that Solos had been added to Black Ops Royale, which had launched with four-player teams. The same report said standard Battle Royale on Verdansk was back after being unavailable during the Black Ops Royale launch window. The reported Verdansk options included Battle Royale Quads and Casual Quads. Windows Central’s March 21 report documents that dated playlist change.
Black Ops Royale Solos
This was a solo queue within Black Ops Royale, not confirmation that the standard Battle Royale mode had a Solos queue. Raven Software cautioned that Black Ops Royale had been designed and balanced for Quads and that gameplay was not yet fully tuned for one player. Windows Central reproduced that warning on March 21: “While we recognize the strong interest in a Solos option, please be aware that gameplay is not yet fully tuned for a single player experience.”
Standard Battle Royale on Verdansk
The other change restored standard Battle Royale playlists on Verdansk after their temporary absence during the launch period. It was a playlist restoration, separate from adding solo play to Black Ops Royale.

Was Verdansk returning to Warzone for the first time?
No. Activision announced Verdansk’s return for April 3, 2025, describing a rebuilt version of the original large-map experience. The March 2026 update restored standard Battle Royale on the map after a later playlist change; it was not Verdansk’s first reappearance. Activision’s March 2025 announcement covers that earlier return.
How did Black Ops Royale fit into Season 02 Reloaded?
Activision’s March 4, 2026, Season 02 Reloaded announcement described Black Ops Royale as inspired by Blackout: 100 players loot from scratch and fight to be the last squad standing. That is a mode specification, not evidence that the Solos version had been fully tuned for one-player balance. The launch-era caveat from Raven Software is important when interpreting its addition.

Are Solos and Verdansk available now?
The March 21 report establishes what was available in that update, not a permanent playlist promise. Raven Software’s October 7, 2026, Season 06 patch notes mention Verdansk High Value Loot Zones at Superstore, Hospital, and Stadium, but do not list the active playlist menu. Those notes therefore do not confirm whether standard Battle Royale Solos or Black Ops Royale Solos is playable on October 8, 2026. Check the current in-game playlist or an official playlist announcement for live availability.
