GamesRadar reported the 20% discount on October 14, 2025, and said it applied to all three editions on Steam through October 20. The report did not establish the precise time the offer began. The Steam announcement archive reviewed for the launch does not show the specific sale notice, so the discount and its dates are attributed to GamesRadar’s contemporaneous report.

The report described Steam’s review status at that time as “Mixed,” based on more than 34,000 submissions. That is a snapshot from October 14, 2025, not a current rating or review count.
Why “just over a month” is accurate
2K announced that Borderlands 4 would launch on September 12, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The reported discount appeared on October 14, 32 days after launch—just over a month.

These are the US launch prices, not the prices during the October Steam promotion. The available reporting does not establish historical sale prices by region or currency, so applying 20% to the launch prices would not confirm what a customer actually paid.

What the discount does—and does not—tell us
The timing establishes that a discount was reported within weeks of launch; it does not establish why the price changed. The cited reporting offered possible explanations, but no evidence here confirms the publisher’s reason or links the promotion to sales performance. Nor does a past discount establish what Borderlands 4 costs on Steam today.
2K also said that a purchase through Steam or Epic could be played through NVIDIA GeForce NOW. That is a platform-availability statement, not evidence of a current cloud-gaming offer or of any connection between GeForce NOW and the historical Steam discount.
