Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop Crashing or Not Loading on PC: What to Check

Check Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop’s published PC requirements, try the developer’s Mods-folder workaround only if older custom skins may be involved, and send astragon support the requested diagnostic files if the crash continues.

If Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop crashes or will not load on Windows PC, first compare your computer with the game’s published minimum requirements. If the problem started after installing older custom skins, try the developer’s specific workaround of removing the contents of the game’s Mods folder. If neither check explains the failure, send astragon support the diagnostic files it requests. These steps address documented possibilities; they are not a guaranteed fix for every crash.

Record when the failure happens

Before changing files, note the exact error message and when it appears: when you launch the game, while it is loading, or after you reach gameplay. Also note whether you have installed custom skins or other mods. That information helps distinguish the documented old-skin launch issue from a problem that needs individual support; without your error, PC specifications, storefront, and mod history, a specific cause cannot be identified.

Check your PC against the published requirements

Steam lists the following requirements for Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop. They are published specifications, not a guarantee that the game will run stably on every system that meets them. The listing does not specify requirements for every later Windows release or hardware configuration.

Component Minimum Recommended
Operating system Windows 10 64-bit; 64-bit processor and operating system Windows 10 64-bit; 64-bit processor and operating system
Processor Intel Core i3-2120 / AMD Phenom II X4 830 or equivalent Intel Core i5-4440 / AMD FC-8140 or equivalent
Memory 8 GB RAM 8 GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 with 2 GB VRAM / AMD Radeon R9 280 with 2 GB VRAM or higher NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM / AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 with 8 GB VRAM or higher
DirectX Version 12 Version 12
Network Broadband internet Broadband internet
Available storage 18 GB 18 GB

Compare your processor, memory, graphics card and available storage with the table. A system below minimum specifications may struggle to run the game, but the requirements alone cannot diagnose a particular crash. Steam’s Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop listing is the source for these figures.

If you installed older custom skins, check the Mods folder

A stillalive studios developer response dated January 28, 2022, described a particular startup-crash scenario: older custom skins could be incompatible with the game’s newer mod system. The developer named skins such as ONL, Friendly Fire and Spielesause as examples. This is a historically specific possible cause, not an explanation for every current crash or every mod installation.

  1. In Steam, open your Library, right-click Bus Simulator 21, and choose Properties.
  2. Open Installed Files and select Browse to open the game’s installation folder. The developer’s original instruction referred to Properties > Local Files > Browse; Steam’s tab label may vary by client version.
  3. Open BusSimulator21/Mods and remove the contents of the Mods folder, as the developer advised for the old-skin scenario.
  4. Try launching the game again. If it still fails, contact astragon support rather than assuming that another blanket file change will help.

Removing these files may affect custom content you installed. The documented instruction is to remove the contents of the folder; it does not establish that deleting unrelated game files or all mod data is necessary. The developer’s Steam Community response contains the original scenario and guidance.

Update drivers and contact astragon if it still will not load

Astragon’s official PC support guidance advises making sure your PC drivers are up to date. If the requirements check and, where relevant, the old-skin workaround do not resolve the problem, email [email protected] and attach the diagnostic files the support page requests: DXDIAG.txt and MSINFO.txt.

  • Include the exact error message, or say if no message appears.
  • Describe when the crash occurs and whether it began after installing custom skins or mods.
  • Include your PC specifications and the requested DXDIAG.txt and MSINFO.txt files.

Follow astragon’s official Bus Simulator support instructions for preparing the diagnostic files. The guidance does not specify a universal crash-report collection method or a response time.
