Epic excludes V-Bucks from its cross-platform statement. This covers access across devices; it does not confirm that you can play two Fortnite sessions at the same time.
What carries over when you use the same Epic account?
Epic says Fortnite progress and purchased content, except V-Bucks, are accessible across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Switch, and mobile when the relevant platform accounts are linked to the same Epic Games account. See Epic’s cross-platform purchases and progress guidance.
Do not assume V-Bucks will transfer between platforms: Epic’s general cross-platform statement specifically excludes them.
Does this mean you can play on two devices at once?
Not necessarily. Epic’s guidance establishes that linked devices can access the same account progress and eligible purchases, but it does not say whether two live Fortnite sessions can run simultaneously under one account. Its separate help article describes an error for accounts signed in on too many devices and advises signing out elsewhere; it does not give a universal device limit or establish a simultaneous-gameplay rule. How to link another device to the Epic account with your progress
- Sign in to the Epic Games account that already holds the Fortnite progress you want to use.
- Open Linked accounts in your Epic account settings.
- Choose the platform account you want to connect and follow the prompts to link it.
Epic says PC and mobile are already linked to the Epic account used on those devices. For a console, link its platform account to the Epic account containing the intended progress. Epic allows only one platform account of each type to be linked at a time, and a platform account can be linked to only one Epic account at a time. Follow Epic’s device-sync and account-linking instructions.
Why is your Fortnite progress different on the other device?
The devices may be using different Epic Games accounts, or the platform account may be linked to an Epic account that does not contain the progress you want. Check which Epic account owns that progress before unlinking or relinking anything.

Epic says progress from separate Epic accounts cannot be merged. Unlinking a platform account and linking it to another Epic account does not move the first account’s Fortnite progress into the second one. If two people or devices have separate progress sets, those sets remain on their respective Epic accounts. See Epic’s troubleshooting guidance for progress that did not sync.

Sign out of the Epic account on another device, then try signing in again. Epic documents this as the response to the active-login error; it does not specify how many devices may remain signed in or say whether two Fortnite matches can be played at once. Details are in Epic’s login-error article.
