If your old Roblox account has an email address or phone number attached, try Roblox’s password or username recovery flow first. If you can’t use either contact method, contact Roblox Support. Roblox requires you to verify account ownership before it can reset an account or change its information, and its guidance does not guarantee that every account can be restored.
Start with the email address or phone number on the account
On the Roblox login page, open the forgotten-password or username recovery option. For a password reset, enter the email address associated with the account. If a phone number was added, select the Phone tab and follow the verification steps. Phone verification is available only in select countries.
If you’re waiting for an email, check your spam or junk folder and make sure you entered the address that was actually added to the account. Roblox’s password recovery instructions explain the reset process and its limits.
If you forgot the username
Use the username recovery flow with the email address or phone number previously added to the account. Those methods won’t find the account if the contact information wasn’t on it before you forgot the username. You can also look through old Roblox purchase receipts, which may show the username. Roblox says that without an email, phone number, or purchase history, there is no way to recover a username through these methods. See Roblox’s username recovery guidance.

When self-service recovery isn’t available
If you can’t access the attached email or phone, or neither was added to the account, submit a request through Roblox Support. Explain the login problem clearly, provide the username if you know it, identify the affected device, and choose the relevant support category. Roblox says players must verify ownership before an account can be reset or its information changed. A support request is the next route to try, not a guarantee of recovery.
If 2-Step Verification blocks you after a password reset
A successful password reset may not be enough if you can’t complete 2-Step Verification. Try an alternate method available on the account, such as an email code or a saved backup code. Roblox notes that users who lose access to their primary verification method may need two different verification methods set up on the account. If you think someone took over the account
Use Roblox’s official recovery and support routes, and secure any other accounts that reused the same password. Enter your Roblox login details only on the official Roblox site or app. Don’t share your password, browser cookies, 2-Step Verification codes, or backup codes with anyone offering to recover the account. Roblox’s account safety guidance explains how to protect your credentials.
Once you regain access, change the password to a unique one and add recovery and security options you can use. Roblox lists security keys as one possible 2-Step Verification method; they can help protect an account going forward, but they do not prove ownership or recover a locked account. What to expect in the difficult cases
- No email or phone was added: Roblox says its password-reset feature can’t reset the account in this situation. Contact support and be prepared to verify ownership.
- No username, contact method, or purchase history: Roblox says its listed username recovery methods can’t recover the account in these circumstances.
- You’re helping a child under 13: Roblox describes a parental recovery email option for users under 13. Use the parent or guardian recovery route rather than bypassing account settings.
Roblox’s support pages describe recovery steps and ownership checks, but don’t publish a recovery success rate or promise a particular outcome for an old, inaccessible, or compromised account.
