Roblox can restrict an account over content that violates its Community Standards, including a shirt, but it does not say every inappropriate shirt automatically results in a ban. The response can depend on the violation’s severity and impact, as well as the account’s history. Roblox does not publish a probability for any particular shirt.
What makes a shirt inappropriate under Roblox’s rules?
Roblox’s Community Standards prohibit sexually explicit and sexually suggestive content, including sexualized avatar bodies, assets, and clothing. The standards also prohibit other harmful content, including discrimination and harassment. These categories are not a complete checklist for every design: the particular asset and Roblox’s assessment matter.
Roblox says it uses moderators and automated systems to identify potential violations. It may use manual review, automated processes, or a combination of both, so a moderation outcome should not be attributed to a particular report or automated detection without evidence from the notice.
What can happen if Roblox flags your shirt?
Possible consequences for Community Standards violations include a warning, removal of content, or restrictions on the Roblox account. Roblox says it considers the violation’s severity and impact, as well as historical behavior and repeat violations. Repeated violations may lead to stronger consequences, such as a warning followed by a timeout and then a suspension. The policy does not say that every offending shirt causes the same penalty or an automatic account ban.

Roblox may also automatically reset an avatar configuration that violates its standards, reverting the avatar to a default appearance and notifying the user in-app. A reset is a possible outcome; Roblox does not promise that it always happens before a warning or account restriction. Recreating an avatar configuration that violates the standards may cause another reset and further action.
What to do if your avatar is reset or your account is moderated
- Read the notice. Identify the item, avatar configuration, or account action Roblox says it moderated. The notice is the best guide to the remedy available for that specific case.
- If your avatar was reset, change the configuration. Remove or replace the relevant clothing or other configuration. If the reset notice shows the “Report mistake” option and you believe the reset was wrong, use it. Roblox says Support does not manually review avatar safety-reset decisions.
- For another appealable moderation action, follow the route in the notice. Some cases offer a direct Violations & Appeals link; others require the Roblox Support Form. For a content appeal, Roblox asks for the account username, a short explanation, the asset ID, and a link to the Roblox content.
- Submit within the applicable deadline. Roblox’s support guidance gives a 30-day period for standard appeals and six months for EU users appealing an initial moderation action. A reviewed action cannot be reviewed again, duplicate appeals are not reviewed, and an appeal does not guarantee reversal.
The avatar-reset “Report mistake” option and the general appeal process are different routes. Use the one Roblox provides for the action described in your notice.
