To find PlayStation Store deals on games you actually want, wishlist those titles, turn on wishlist notifications, and check the current offer for the exact game edition and your account region before buying. Sony runs promotions throughout the year, but no particular game is guaranteed to be discounted in any one sale.

Start with games you actually want

Make a shortlist of games you intend to play instead of starting with a sale banner. On the game’s PlayStation Store product page, select the heart or wishlist control. Sony says the wishlist is available on PS5, in the PlayStation App, and in the PC browser Store. Sony’s wishlist guide also describes alerts for discounts and price reductions, as well as notifications when a wishlisted game joins the PS Plus Extra or Premium catalog.

How do I get notified when a PlayStation game goes on sale?

Add the game to your wishlist, then enable wishlist notifications on the device you use. Sony’s April 20, 2026 instructions are from its German-language PlayStation Blog; the setting names below are translated and may differ with system language, app version, or region.

PS5: Open Settings → Notifications → Wishlist Updates, then enable “Show Pop-ups.”
PlayStation App: Open Settings → Push Notifications → Accounts and Offers, then enable “Wishlist Updates.”

These alerts are prompts to revisit an offer, not a promise that every wishlist game will receive a discount.

Where can I see current PlayStation Store deals?

Open the PlayStation deals and events page for the US Store, or browse the Deals section of your own country’s PlayStation Store. Sony says promotions run throughout the year. Search for the specific game and check its product listing rather than assuming a sale headline includes it.

Event pages can help you remember to check, but they are not a guarantee that a target game will be discounted—or that an event price will beat an offer available now. Sony’s 2026 US dates illustrate why it is important to verify whether a promotion is live: Days of Play ran May 27–June 10, 2026, and the Summer Sale ran July 15–August 12, 2026. Check exactly what the displayed price includes

Before purchase, confirm the details on the product page and at checkout. A lower price is only useful if it applies to the version you meant to buy.

Platform: Verify whether the offer is for the PS4 version, PS5 version, or both.
Edition and contents: Distinguish the base game from a deluxe edition, bundle, or add-on, and check what is included.
Region and account: Check the price shown in the PlayStation Store for your account’s country; prices and offers can vary by region.
Eligibility: Look for PS Plus or other eligibility conditions. Sony’s 2026 Days of Play announcement noted that some additional Store discounts and membership promotions depended on country, membership tier, and eligibility, so a PS Plus offer should not be assumed to apply to every member.

Compare the offer with your alternatives and timing

If your console has a disc drive and you are willing to buy physical media, compare the Store price with a participating retailer’s price for the same game and edition. That is a separate purchase channel, not a PlayStation Store digital discount; availability and retailer pricing can differ.

There is no universal percentage that makes a PlayStation deal objectively “best.” The official sources cited here do not establish a historical-low benchmark. Instead, judge the current total against your budget, the edition you want, and when you plan to play. If the price works for you now, buy; otherwise, leave the game wishlisted and check again later. A future discount is possible, not guaranteed.
