Operation: Infinite is the game’s final Operation Pass: its free track has 100 tiers, while Premium costs 1,000 Halo Credits—or 2,500 Credits for an offer that also unlocks the first 20 tiers immediately. Passes do not expire, but Premium is needed to progress an older pass after its Operation ends.
How the Battle Pass works
Halo Support describes the Battle Pass as a way to earn Spartan, vehicle, and weapon customizations by completing multiplayer challenges. Match XP and challenges advance the selected pass; reaching a tier unlocks its corresponding reward. The pass contains rewards marked Free and rewards on the Premium track. You can progress the free track without paying, but you need Premium to claim Premium rewards.
If you buy Premium after earning tiers on the free track, you can claim the Premium rewards up to your current progress. Progress goes to the pass you currently have selected, so check which pass is active before playing.
Official support documentation uses both “Battle Pass” and “Operation Pass.” Each Operation has a corresponding pass, and previous passes remain available. Passes do not expire. Once an Operation is no longer active, however, you need Premium to continue progressing that pass.

What Operation: Infinite includes
Halo Infinite’s November 18, 2025 patch notes identify Operation: Infinite as the game’s final Operation Pass. Its free track has 100 tiers and progresses with Match XP earned in matchmaking or Custom Games. Halo Waypoint’s launch announcement describes three full armor sets in the free pass. The 100-tier Premium Pass adds five armor sets, six weapon models, and more than 30 exclusive Spartan customizations. Halo Waypoint’s Operation: Infinite announcement
Halo Support lists two Premium offers. The 1,000-Credit offer unlocks the Premium rewards and includes the Charged Quill weapon model, Phoenix Gold weapon coating, an extra Challenge slot while the pass is equipped, and bonus Match XP while the Operation is active. The 2,500-Credit offer includes that content and instantly unlocks the first 20 tiers. The patch notes say both offers remain available with no end date. | Offer | Cost | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Premium Pass | 1,000 Halo Credits | All 100 Premium tiers, the listed bonus content, an extra Challenge slot while equipped, and bonus Match XP while Operation: Infinite is active. |
| Premium Pass with instant tiers | 2,500 Halo Credits | Everything in the 1,000-Credit offer, plus the first 20 tiers unlocked immediately. |
The instant-tier offer is for players who want those tiers unlocked at once; the standard Premium offer does not include that immediate tier unlock.
How the Shop and Exchange differ
The Shop sells digital offers that unlock immediately after purchase. Unlike pass rewards, they are not earned by progressing through tiers. Halo Support says some Shop offers change weekly and others daily, so check the in-game Shop or Halo Waypoint for the current lineup rather than relying on a particular item being available.
The Exchange is a separate storefront. It uses Spartan Points (SP), while Halo Credits are used for Shop purchases and paid pass access.
| System | How rewards are obtained | Currency |
|---|---|---|
| Battle Pass / Operation Pass | Earned by progressing tiers; Premium is required for Premium-track rewards. | Halo Credits for Premium access; some pass tiers can grant Spartan Points. |
| Shop | Offers unlock immediately after purchase; some offers rotate daily or weekly. | Halo Credits. |
| Exchange | Choose eligible customizations from its separate storefront. | Spartan Points. |
Halo Support says Spartan Points can be earned from Daily Challenges, Ultimate Challenges, qualifying new Operation Passes, and some Battle or Operation Pass tiers. They are not Halo Credits: Credits are purchased with real money and pay for Shop items or paid pass access, while Spartan Points pay for Exchange customizations. Halo Support’s Spartan Points FAQ

Where to buy and what to check first
Halo Support documents a purchase route through Halo Waypoint: sign in with the Xbox account connected to your game, open the Halo Infinite Service Record, and use its Store area. Selecting a Credits bundle redirects to Xbox.com for checkout; a pass or Shop item can be selected and confirmed using the required Credits. The Exchange tile opens the separate Spartan Points storefront. Halo Support’s Halo Credits FAQ
- Confirm the account: Credits and progress are tied to the Xbox account used for the purchase or sign-in.
- Refresh external Credit purchases: Credits bought outside the in-game Shop may not appear until you fully restart the game. Do not rely on Quick Resume or a suspended session to refresh the balance.
- Check before spending: Credits already redeemed for an item or pass cannot be refunded, according to Halo Support.
- Verify current availability: Shop lineups can rotate, even though Operation: Infinite’s Premium offers have no end date in the November 18, 2025 patch notes.
Which option should you choose?
- Choose the free track if you want to earn its rewards without buying Premium. Look for rewards marked Free.
- Choose Premium if you want the pass’s Premium rewards; if you are considering 2,500 Credits rather than 1,000, the extra purchase difference is the first 20 tiers unlocked immediately.
- Use the Shop when you want a currently offered item unlocked immediately and are prepared to spend Halo Credits.
- Use the Exchange for eligible customizations priced in Spartan Points rather than Credits.
