How to play Halo Infinite with friends on Xbox and PC
- Sign in to Halo Infinite using the Xbox account associated with your Gamertag.
- Add the other player as a friend on the Xbox network.
- In the game, open the Friends or Recent tab and invite that player to your Fireteam.
Halo Support says the game supports cross-play between PC and Xbox consoles and directs players to use Xbox network friends for invites. The Master Chief Collection
MCC shares much of its save data across Xbox consoles, the Xbox app for Windows PC, and Steam when you use the same Xbox network profile. The listed shared data includes mission completion, career stats, leaderboards, rank, and several unlock categories. Campaign checkpoints partway through a mission do not transfer. Does cross-play cost extra?

Halo Support’s September 2025 MCC update says a cross-platform matchmaking issue affecting the Xbox PC and Microsoft Store versions was addressed, and that an update was also required on Xbox consoles and Steam. This is a record of a resolved issue, not evidence that matchmaking is currently broken. If you have connection trouble, make sure the game is updated on each platform before troubleshooting further.
