With seasonal growth enabled in Farming Simulator 25, each crop has a planting window and a harvest window shown in the in-game crop calendar. Check that calendar for the save you are playing: it is the practical month-by-month guide, and the available official manual text does not reliably expose every crop’s complete schedule. You can also turn seasonal growth off to plant and harvest at any time.
How seasons and the crop calendar work in FS25
The game cycles through spring, summer, fall, and winter. When seasonal growth is enabled, the calendar determines when you can plant and harvest each crop; GIANTS Software’s manual describes it this way: “The seasonal crop calendar impacts the time-frame you are able to plant and harvest your crops.”

Open the in-game crop calendar and use its crop-specific month bars as your reference. Check it before sowing or planting, then plan to harvest before the crop withers. The calendar in your save is more useful than a generic month list: the official manual confirms how the mechanic works, but its chart is not reliably available in text for a complete crop-by-crop schedule.
When to plant and harvest crops in Farming Simulator 25
GIANTS Software’s September 12, 2024 announcement gives two examples from the game:

These examples show why it is worth checking each crop separately rather than assuming crops share a season. They do not establish the planting and harvest months for every crop or every later update. Do not use real-world growing seasons as a substitute for the FS25 calendar.
What can change your harvest plan?
Rain and snow
A crop may be ready while the weather still prevents work: the manual says harvesting is unavailable while it is raining or snowing. Wait for the precipitation to stop before trying again.

Crop handling and equipment
Some crops need more than a suitable month. GIANTS Software’s 2024 announcement says rice and long-grain rice call for attention to water management and specialized equipment. It also says spinach can be harvested twice after one sowing and cannot be stored, so it needs to be sold promptly. Check the crop’s requirements and handling constraints alongside its calendar window rather than assuming every crop follows the same routine.
Harvest timing and sale timing are separate
The manual notes that prices change by season and that select crops can be stored in a silo. That makes selling a separate decision from harvesting: the calendar tells you when field work is possible, but the available official information does not establish a best sale month for each crop.

How to turn off seasonal growth
If you prefer not to follow crop-specific windows, deactivate seasonal growth in the game settings. GIANTS Software’s manual says this allows planting and harvesting at any time. The calendar-based timing advice above applies when seasonal growth is on.
Expansion crop example: coffee in Beans & Alpacas
Coffee is expansion content, not an example to fold into a base-game crop schedule. GIANTS Software’s July 14, 2026 press release for the Beans & Alpacas expansion says coffee beans can be planted starting in September, with red coffee cherries ready to harvest in May. Consult the relevant in-game calendar and content availability for the save you are playing.
