Who is the returning character?
It is Maevaris Tilani, a Tevinter magister. According to ComicBook.com’s August 30, 2024 report, she had previously been mentioned in Dragon Age: Inquisition and appeared in the comic miniseries Those Who Speak and Until We Sleep. The report describes The Veilguard as her first appearance in a game in the series.
What is known about her role?
The reported confirmation establishes that Maevaris will appear, but it does not specify her scene, story function, screen time, or visual design. Those details should not be inferred from the confirmation alone.
Why does a returning character matter in The Veilguard?
BioWare framed the game around its heroes, stories, and the need to unite its companions. In its June 6, 2024 announcement about the game’s new title, the studio described seven companions whose storylines are shaped by player decisions.
