DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined released on February 5, 2026, so its countdown is over. Square Enix announced that date for all listed platforms, but did not give one standard-edition launch hour for every store and region. The specific times it published were for Digital Deluxe early access: February 3 at 17:00 UTC on Steam and midnight local time on other platforms.
When did DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined come out?
The game released February 5, 2026. Square Enix’s official game page now labels it “Available Now.” The announced platforms were Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Store on Windows, and Steam. Square Enix’s release announcement gives the date and platform list.
What time was early access scheduled to start?
The published times applied to the Digital Deluxe Edition’s early-access period, not the standard edition’s release. Square Enix Support gave different timing for Steam and other platforms:
| Platform group | Planned early-access start | What the time means |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | February 3, 2026, at 17:00 UTC | A single UTC time stated in Square Enix Support’s guidance. |
| Other platforms | February 3, 2026, at midnight local time | The timing depended on the player’s local region; Square Enix directed players to their regional platform store for the exact start. |
These were planned early-access times, not a universal standard-edition unlock schedule. Square Enix’s Digital Deluxe early-access guidance contains the timing details.

Did Square Enix publish a standard-edition launch hour?
Not in the official announcement and support information cited here. The release date was February 5, but no universal standard-edition launch hour by platform or region was stated. A calendar date alone does not establish a midnight release, and the early-access schedule should not be used as a substitute. For a historical account-specific unlock time, the relevant platform store is the appropriate reference.
Which editions included early access?
Square Enix described two digital editions. The Standard Edition included the full game. The Digital Deluxe Edition included the base game, three additional DLC sets, a White Wolf costume, and 48 hours of early access. Square Enix said the DLC sets would also be sold separately. The stated early-access window is why Digital Deluxe players had the February 3 schedule rather than the February 5 standard release date. Square Enix Support explains the access timing.

What platforms and versions were announced?
Square Enix announced the remake for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Store on Windows, and Steam. It is a full remake of DRAGON QUEST VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. The original released in Japan in 2000 on PlayStation and in North America in 2001; a Nintendo 3DS remake followed in Japan in February 2013 and in North America, Europe, and Australasia in 2016.
The publisher describes a time-spanning adventure that begins on Estard Island, where finding tablet fragments opens routes to islands in the past.
