Roblox says unauthorized charges and abuse of its refund system can lead to moderation, suspension, or account closure. A legitimate refund request alone is not described as an automatic ban trigger. If a refund is processed, Roblox may also remove the Robux tied to that purchase.
When can a refund lead to account action?
Roblox distinguishes between requesting a refund and the circumstances behind a purchase or refund. Its unauthorized-charges guidance says charges made without the payment account owner’s permission violate its Terms of Use and may result in permanent closure of the associated account or accounts.
Roblox also says accounts that abuse its refund system or complete unauthorized purchases may face additional moderation. Its notice about Robux being removed says that action can include suspension or removal from Roblox. The wording describes possible consequences, not a guaranteed outcome for every case.
The published guidance does not define how many refunds count as “excessive,” set a numeric threshold, or promise a particular decision for an individual account. It therefore does not support claims that Roblox bans everyone who asks for a refund.

What happens to Robux after a refund?
If Roblox processes a refund for a purchase that included Robux, it may remove the Robux associated with that purchase. Roblox says it sends an Inbox message explaining the removal. This is separate from account moderation: Robux removal may happen without the guidance establishing that a ban will follow.
Refund request or payment dispute: which should you use?
| Situation | Who to contact | What Roblox says about account risk |
|---|---|---|
| You need help with an eligible card, PayPal, or Google Play charge | Contact Roblox Support before disputing the charge, as Roblox recommends. | Unauthorized charges may lead to permanent closure of associated accounts; Roblox does not say a legitimate request by itself automatically triggers a ban. |
| You want to dispute a charge through your card issuer or payment provider | The provider handles its dispute process. Roblox says that process may prevent it from issuing a direct or immediate refund. | Roblox’s guidance warns about unauthorized charges and refund-system abuse, not a guaranteed consequence for every dispute. |
| The purchase was processed by Apple/iTunes, Microsoft, PlayStation, Meta Quest, Samsung, or Amazon | Use the refund route for the platform or provider that processed the purchase. | The cited Roblox guidance does not give a separate account-risk rule for each provider. |
These distinctions matter: the charge’s authorization, purchase channel, and refund route can affect who handles the request. Roblox recommends contacting it first for eligible card, PayPal, or Google Play charges; other listed platforms may require you to request the refund from them directly.

Is there a 48-hour refund window?
Roblox publishes a 48-hour window for requesting a refund of paid access in local currency, measured from the first purchase. That rule is specific to that purchase type; it should not be treated as a universal deadline for Robux or every other Roblox purchase. The same paid-access guidance warns that future unauthorized charges or excessive refunds may lead to temporary suspension or permanent account closure.
