BioWare’s 2024 promotional material framed the rooms as environmental storytelling—details of the hub are meant to reflect the people who live there.
What is the Lighthouse in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
The Lighthouse is the central hub where Rook can rest, spend time with companions and learn more about the world through conversation. BioWare’s September 11, 2024 announcement describes it as a place for both downtime and character interactions, rather than simply a route between missions. BioWare’s “Exploration Across Thedas” announcement also identifies it as the setting for one-on-one conversations with companions.
The hub is associated with Solas’s former base of operations. In the official Xbox podcast listing, BioWare creative director Corinne Busche discusses how the space evolves as recruited companions arrive. The listing describes the design goal as making the Lighthouse feel responsive to its inhabitants, with their personalities visible in their surroundings. The Xbox Wire podcast page refers to screenshots of different companion rooms.
How do companion rooms change?
Each companion has an individual room that can be decorated to their taste, and BioWare says these rooms progress over the course of the story. The rooms therefore serve two purposes: they provide a setting for private conversations with companions, and they can change alongside the people and events connected to them.

That is the clearest supported way to read the promotional screenshots: they offer a look at companion spaces within a hub designed to reflect its residents. Without confirmation of the original gallery’s exact images, it is not possible to identify which specific companions’ rooms appear in it or to infer particular story developments from individual furnishings.
What else is in the Lighthouse?
BioWare’s announcement places Rook’s room and the Caretaker’s Workshop in the Lighthouse as well. The Workshop is where players can upgrade and enchant items, giving the hub a practical role alongside its rest and conversation spaces.

When were the screenshots revealed?
The screenshots belong to the game’s 2024 promotional period, not a new release announcement. Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched on October 31, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, according to EA’s launch announcement.
