Yes—NASCAR 25 includes car setup options. Before launch, Insider Gaming reporter Mike Straw reported that the game would have a “full suite” of setup options. A post-launch guide describes a quick tight-to-loose slider as well as a custom setup editor, but the detailed menu mechanics below come from that third-party guide, not a current official specification.
What was confirmed about NASCAR 25 car setups?
On August 1, 2025, Mike Straw of Insider Gaming reported that he had confirmed NASCAR 25 would feature “a full suite of car setup options.” He also wrote that he was told players would have a “full menu” of ways to tune the car. Straw did not list the individual settings, and the reporting does not identify a developer or publisher representative as the source of those phrases. Read Straw’s pre-launch report.
That is a pre-launch confirmation of the feature, not a comprehensive official breakdown of every adjustment. The practical description available here comes from The Daily Downforce, which published a post-launch guide on October 23, 2025. Its menu details and limitations may have changed since publication.
What setup options does the post-launch guide describe?
| Option | What it does | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Tight-to-loose slider | A quick balance adjustment. The guide says moving right makes the car tighter; moving left makes it looser. | Players who want a basic adjustment without editing individual setup sections. |
| Custom setup creator | A more detailed editor organized into four tire sections and one overall-car section, according to the guide. | Players who want to tune more than the basic balance setting. |
The guide also says players can load saved setups and save their own custom setups. It does not quantify how long custom tuning takes or specify that one approach is faster on track.

How do I make my NASCAR 25 car tighter or looser?
According to The Daily Downforce’s October 2025 guide, open setup settings from a practice session before the race and adjust the tight-to-loose slider. Moving it to the right makes the car tighter; moving it left makes it looser. The guide describes a tight car as pushing away from the corner around mid-turn, while a loose car feels as if the rear tires have less grip. Those are the guide’s explanations of the feel, not a universal diagnostic for every player or track.
For more detailed work, move from the slider page into the setup creator. The guide describes five sections in total: four tire sections plus an overall-car section. It says you can open a saved setup or save a custom one. See The Daily Downforce’s setup guide.

How should you evaluate a setup?
Use practice to assess whether a change helps you control the car. A setup that works for another player may not suit your controller settings, gameplay sliders, skill level, or comfort. Treat shared builds as starting points rather than guaranteed fastest setups, and change settings in a controlled way so you can tell what affected the car’s feel. The guide does not establish a universally fastest slider position or custom setup.
The October 23, 2025 guide said setup changes could not be made mid-race at that time. That is a dated, version-sensitive claim; confirm the current game behavior before relying on it.

Where can you find shared NASCAR 25 setups?
Independent setup libraries may help you find a starting point, but their coverage and testing claims are their own. Check that a setup is for your series and track, and evaluate it in practice against your controls and preferences.
- InsiderSetups lists NASCAR 25 pages for Cup, Xfinity, Truck, and ARCA, along with submissions, testing videos, and controller or wheel settings. The site describes itself as unaffiliated with NASCAR, IndyCar, tracks, and publishers; treat its setup availability and testing labels as site-reported.
- NASGameHub says its NASCAR 25 hub includes tested setups for every track and guides for Cup, Xfinity, Truck, and ARCA. It describes track guides as covering the racing line, braking points, and a base setup. These are the site’s own coverage and testing claims; it says it is independent and not affiliated with NASCAR or a game publisher.
There is no suitable published statistic here for setup outcomes or player behavior. Counts shown by a setup library are live site activity figures, not general statistics about NASCAR 25 players.

Is special hardware required to change setups?
The described setup workflow is in-game, and the guides do not establish that a particular wheel, controller, book, or other product is required. A physical NASCAR 25 release is not established by the setup sources; Windows Central characterized the game as a digital-only release in a contemporary preview. That does not make hardware necessary for tuning.
